I really like the wheels on that "spy shot".

Maybe with Nissan's Leaf and other vehicles to come, they can keep churning out GTRs and Zs with 6cyl engines? |
I dont know if it was mentioned yet but the IPL Infiniti G37s come with 348hp... that will prob be the only motor upgrade to the 370 along with there periodic color changes ... not even sure if they have DI on the IPL G37, but thats prob it for upgrades to the 370z's motor...

Nothing....for 2012 tsunami recovery.

Maybe a "true" NISMO with a performance increase over the base Z:stirthepot:
|
What can we expect?
Just enough to make me wish I'd held out for another year. :p |

^^Wrong section.... But just an FYI...
Also, a base Z with stock bolts ons usually has more power than your stock Nismo anyways... Besides aesthetics and obvious suspension differences, your Nismo only has 18hp more due to an exhaust and a tune..... Any base Z with exhuast and a tune would have the same power (~approx). Then if this base Z were to add test pipes and intake it would have more power..... You did a superb job running a 12.98 though. |

And what Lemers was pointing out I think was he is hoping to see a reduced Nismo RC edition basically. Better seats over base, stitch welded chassis, maybe some weight reduction and better suspension balance. The 370z Nismo is basically just a body kit with different suspension components, unlike the 350z Nismo which had all of the above (minus the seats).

You should post your time slip in the 1/4 mile thread  |
Haha he is 6mt though so the 12.98 is a little harder.
I believe that's that quickest 6mt stock pass though |
I didn't take a pic of it or I would, they sat crumPled on the passenger seat until I cleaned the car out. And no, saying the nismo is just a aerokits wrong, it's an ongoing flamewar for base model owners to justify saving money and nismo owners to justify spending it. Aero kit, wider lighter rims front and back, nismo breaks, better suspension, chassis, interior embroidery, different tires "same as sport" different exhaust, engine tune, and above all exclusivity of owning a much more limited production car. If u don't see all that being worth a few thousand more then I'm sorry you bought a base and missed out, and in some cases the damn touring/sport can cost just as much if not more! And guess what? I have a gps in the nismo..... So tell me why?
And now I sit back and let the justification wars begin. I say, be happy with what ya got, to each his own bro. |
And also I need to mention something I didn't say before, because I had forgoten about WHEN I had done it. But I was running 305 35 19 potenza s-04 pole positions in the rear, so not stock tires, and had k&n stock style air filters, for however much difference that would make. Other then that the cars factory.

Exclusivity and looks are all I will give you. Further...brakes? I thought they were identical to sport brakes except for paint. Wrong? I have no agenda to justify my purchase of a non nismo, BTW. I currently drive what's in my Sig, and am trading it in on a z, so its not someone with a. Base care making argument based on emotion. |
IC, you are correct they are the same brakes, same interior (minus red stitching), and same chassis and frame.
The 'extras' are aero, which adds more weight, different wheels & tires, different dampers and springs, and exhaust/tune. Honestly you can get all of that for cheaper than the price of the Nismo which is why so many do. Chii, no one is putting down your purchase or the Nismo, we are demonstrating that the 'value' of the upgrade is not worth the investment. And I like the Nismo kit so much I am putting it on my car, just with better suspension, exhaust, tune, interior. Also, you added filters plus tires throwing out your stock run and putting you in the modded class. |
Exactly. I love the look of the Nismo but wanted some of the comforts inside the car.
As far as exclusivity goes for the Nismo.... You're kinda right. They make 500 per year and that means 2000 of them so far..... If you wanted exclusivity you should have gotten a 40th :stirthepot: there's only 1000 ever made lol |

lol i dont think your putting me down for the purchase. you dont have to take my word for it but this is the second 370 ive owned. i had a base first and bought the nismo later on and i can tell you the difference is quite significant. im not sure about the sport model since ive never driven one.
i really liked the 40th, especially the offered color and how they smoked the rims and did the interior that was sweet. and i really wish they would use there head and put that much effort into whats SUPPOSED to be there flagship Z model. why didnt they at least give the nismo leather seats? everything else is leather..... lol |
A lot of wrong speculation on the 2012. I guess that's why speculations are unwelcome.
|
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing yesterday... The Z unchanged for now is a good thing. It keeps the price in the ball park for those of us on a two buck chuck budget.
Someday I'll have a champagne budget and a car to go with it. The Z will always be a like a bottle of good wine to me.... the more it ages the better it gets. |
