In related new, so far so good  It was 20 degrees this morning and there was snow piled up on everything, but my windows opened. It was a little slow but it worked. We'll see if I can continue to get in my doors as winter progresses :rofl2:

The windows freeze. Hard. Even the drop down function would not work until the car had been in the sun for awhile. I was afraid I'd shatter the window every time I closed the door.

There were so many creaks and rattles I thought there was a ghost in the car (I imagined it was Leslie Nielsen playing with his whoopie cushion:ugh2:). I mean A LOT of creaks and rattles. More than any other car I've driven.

When wearing gloves, my attempts to turn up the volume using the steering mounted controls (to drown out the noise Mr. Nielsen's ghost was making), I activated the phone controls. Several times. Why didn't Nissan make the track advance button the volume control?!?:eekdance:

Not surprisingly, the summer tires acted like ice skates (this problem will be solved - Hankook Ventus performance all-seasons going on tomorrow for the winter :happydance:)

Anyone else have issues come up when the cold weather hits? (and if you guys in AZ, SoCal, TX, FL etc. tell me it never gets cold there I'm going to have a nervous breakdown!)

Sorry but i could not resist, Wonderful weather here in PR for xmas 70's and 80's no issues

Oh that is just WRONG! :icon17:

I thought of something else: I cannot believe how hard it is to reach stuff that falls between the door sill and the seat. It is like a black hole for anything that falls, I can't fit my hand in that space and have to move the seat forward only to realize that there is no memory and have to spend 5 minutes getting the seat back to where it was.

:rofl2:... yeah, I found that out. The hard way, on the first day :icon14:
My phone slide under the seat, it was much more work to retrieve then it should have been :ughdance:

Especially with power seats. Takes about half an hour to move them to the full forward position :ugh2:

exactly :excited: it would only take a second if they were manual.

Honestly I would rather have manual seats in most cases, but their considered to cheap for good cars these days. Unless the power seats have memory, that's nice, otherwise I could care less

I would also prefer manual seats (unless there is a memory feature), but find it difficult to find manufacturers that offer heated seats that aren't also power seat. I like heated seats:tup:

i prefer manual cloth seats on sports cars. :p when you add too much luxury it just seems to be more of a dressup car and not a driving enthusiast's car.

If it's a weekend/fun car I agree with you.

My complaint is the placement of the cargo cover.
It's a few inches back from the chassis brace... a few inches that would make a huge difference in what I can fit back there if it was further forward.

Yeah, I have that thing out or lying on the "trunk" floor often. I haven't actually used it yet, but could imagine wanting to cover up an overnight bag or something when traveling.

Cooled is even better :happydance: but your right, no manual option then

RedBullRR 12-07-2010 11:18 AM

I have a minor complaint. It doesn't matter whether i washed the car weeks ago or it rained weeks ago. Whenever I roll my window down its as if I just washed the car when I roll it back up. Smudged with water marks. I know silly complaint but I hate having to fkn wipe down the window anytime i decide to roll it down.

crash1369 12-07-2010 11:25 AM

Check the seals along the bottom of the windows, their probably not even touching the glass. Mine weren't

Exactly, whatever falls seems to fall just far enough under the seat to the point where you can feel it with your finger tips but any attempt to grab it instantly pushes it just out of reach. :rofl2:

Ditto.

I can't stand waiting patiently for the motor to shuttle my ass back and forth to the correct positon. So much easier to just use a manual slider.

Nismo221 12-07-2010 12:43 PM

Hit the 20s last night coming home from work. No weird nosies but I'm really worried my windows are going to stick some time this winter.

There's nothing wrong with driving them in the winter.

Awww, what do you Canadians know about WINTER?!?:bowrofl:

Say "Hi!" to Santa when you see him around Ontario!

crash1369 12-08-2010 05:57 AM

I do have a complaint, it has nothing to do with temperature but if we have these fancy transponder keys that know exactly where we are, if their in the car or how far away from it they are. Why don't we have automatic locks?!? That stupid button on the door is awfully cheap, I want my car to lock up as I walk away, and it would be nice if it unlocked when I got back. (although I don't care as much about that part)

I am partial to roll-up windows, manual seat adjustment, and the like. All this electronic junk is jsut something to break. regarding the seats, it makes them heavier. Regarding the windows, I think it's about break-even. However, you just take the door-panels off and grease things up when a roll-up gives you trouble. When an electric does, you often have to drill holes in the fiberglass door-panel to remove it. There is no way to remove a window-motor from many cars without 1) Drilling the rivets out of the glass (VERY risky to the window) or 2) drilling through door-structure.

The thing is, if Porsche deleted electric windows/seats, they would sell it as an "R" or "RS" model and charge more for it, and people would hoot and holler with joy. If Ford/Nissan/GM did it, and made it standard with the power ameneties a reasonably affordable option, everyone would whine and complain.

I have owned both. Personally, I prefer leather. I don't view it as "dressy" or anything. It's nice. When you floor it and soda shoots out your passenger's nose, it's easier to wipe up. When you get in the car on a hot day and sweat before the car cools off, it doesn't imbed countless days of such's grime/sweat into the seat. Etc.

The thing about cloth is that you can clean them fully, easier. My Dad owns a carpet-cleaning company and cloth interiors can be made like new with very little effort.

I still prefer leather. I like knowing that something was sacrificed for my decadence. :P

I bent over/into a 370Z on the lot and dropped my safety scissors into this. It was rediculous. It took help to get them. They (along with pencil's) constantly fall out of my front scrub pocket and I hate it, but I have not found a practical solution to that yet. Will probably buy mechanical pencils and superglue a clip onto the scissors before long. It's getting annoying.
