iPhone and 370Z

The manual states that the iPhone 1st generation is compatible with the Blue Tooth in the 370Z.

Anyone have a 3G iPhone working?

I'm looking to get the 3G iPhone. The one I have now (1st gen.) works well. But the manual only list the 1st generation as compatible.

TIA

I think the only issue is the 3G wont charge while connected to the dock, only the first generation will, at least that is what I read, any input on that?

Actually my 3G won't play either. Bluetooth works well. Although people on the other end say my voice sounds muffled.

Wait, wait, not that I'm surprised, but are you saying your 3G won't play through the Touring model's ipod connector? Well, now I'm definitely glad I got the base.

3G works great with the bluetooth! And YES the 3G DOES play through the touring model!!! I used it this morning!

The firewire charge problem can be fixed by one of these passthrough adaters from Griffin or Scosche.

While it's more money, at least they're there to fix the problem.

Son of a b*tch, Griffin finally made one, eh. Not to go off topic, but I knew about the scosche one and was considering buying it for my iPhone 3g car stereo connection for my Prelude, but then I bought the Z. :driving:

Maybe I'll get it for the gf, as I was going to stick the iPhone 3G 30pin-Honda Aux plug adapter from my Lude into her Honda. This way she won't need to get a new charger for the 3G.

Jungle Prop 03-19-2009 02:29 PM

Bullitt you got yours to play through the connector without any adapter? I'll have to try again, but it didn't regonize mine.

Sometimes the iPhone has problems connecting to things if you're in 'lock mode' and you haven't typed in your security pin. It doesn't seem to do the whole handshake correctly if it's not awake and on the home screen (at least, other screens work too). Probably a power saving thing.

My iPhone 3G reports that the connected device is not compatible with the iPhone, and that it's not charging (don't recall the exact wording).

I would love for the iPhone audio output to be routed through the provided cable on the Touring model w/ Nav, I had that functionality in my aftermarket setup on the 350z. At the moment it's kinda disappointing, as I used to stream my music collection from home over 3G using simplify (and other stuff like last.fm/pandora).

I'm also having problems with a 160GB iPod classic only being partially read -- it seems like the artist list gets truncated and none of the albums contain songs when you navigate to them, yet it will start playing at the very first song alphabetically without a problem (if you don't mind going through tens of thousands of songs that way).

As I've said, the iPhone/iPod integration is very disappointing thus far.

My iPhone 3G works perfectly with the system.
