Vehicle Dynamic Control.

Do you guys drive with the VDC ON/OFF and why? What differences do you guys feel when driving with it on/off.

This has been discussed many times before...

But, I leave it on for daily driving. =)

I sometimes get a slippy light when I accelerate quickly. It seems so unsafe that I can't get full power when I cut off oncoming traffic. Also, it gives me problems when I try to do burnouts and drift on the city streets. What a stupid feature for Nissan to include.

Supersunshine, my sarcasm isn't directed at you per-se. The VDC topic has been posted about 300 times on the forum. Try using the search function or Google will even search forum threads for you.

Oh nos - just remember to turn it off JUST in between shifts for smoother shifts... Thats what I do when im raccinnnggg!!!

Its easy if you time your clutch pedal and your left hand together - one kicks the clutch in - left hand turns off VDC and when you come off the clutch - turn that bad boy back on!

:iagree: You may thing that spearfish is joking, but those are the reasons why I drive with it off most the time...

I bet the pickup truck in Predator that was powering the rebel camp didn't have VDC. Once Arnold set it loose, that bitch just took off. More likely a Toyota than a Nissan.

tjlazer 11-17-2010 02:28 PM

In a straight line it can give you more power, assuming you don't drop the clutch and spin your tires. But IMHO, leave it on unless you want to wreck your Z. And never turn it off in the rain/winter...

kenchan 11-17-2010 02:36 PM

tj- in your case fix your front camber first. :D

ProfessorDave 11-17-2010 03:19 PM

...and take it off when you give it throttle in second or you'll get flamed for not knowing how to drive a RWD car:tup:

Poor guy had no idea what he was getting himself into. Just leave VDC on unless you are at the track or competing in auto-x.

ChrisSlicks 11-17-2010 04:48 PM

I had it off a couple of weeks ago while cruising down to lunch, took a corner a little fast and came very close to running out of talent. 50F temps and Summer tires are not a good time to mess around.

Well duh, of course it was a toyota...took off w/o driver input due to stuck gas pedal...:happydance:
