Vehicle Dynamic Control.
Do you guys drive with the VDC ON/OFF and why? What differences do you guys feel when driving with it on/off.

This has been discussed many times before...
But, I leave it on for daily driving. =) |
The universe will asplode in 3-2-1 ASPLOOOOODDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I sometimes get a slippy light when I accelerate quickly. It seems so unsafe that I can't get full power when I cut off oncoming traffic. Also, it gives me problems when I try to do burnouts and drift on the city streets. What a stupid feature for Nissan to include.
Supersunshine, my sarcasm isn't directed at you per-se. The VDC topic has been posted about 300 times on the forum. Try using the search function or Google will even search forum threads for you. http://www.the370z.com/*******************/?q=370Z+VDC |
Oh nos - just remember to turn it off JUST in between shifts for smoother shifts... Thats what I do when im raccinnnggg!!!
Its easy if you time your clutch pedal and your left hand together - one kicks the clutch in - left hand turns off VDC and when you come off the clutch - turn that bad boy back on! |

I bet the pickup truck in Predator that was powering the rebel camp didn't have VDC. Once Arnold set it loose, that bitch just took off. More likely a Toyota than a Nissan.
|
In a straight line it can give you more power, assuming you don't drop the clutch and spin your tires. But IMHO, leave it on unless you want to wreck your Z. And never turn it off in the rain/winter...
|
tj- in your case fix your front camber first. :D
|
...and take it off when you give it throttle in second or you'll get flamed for not knowing how to drive a RWD car:tup:
|
Poor guy had no idea what he was getting himself into. Just leave VDC on unless you are at the track or competing in auto-x.
|
I had it off a couple of weeks ago while cruising down to lunch, took a corner a little fast and came very close to running out of talent. 50F temps and Summer tires are not a good time to mess around.

Thats Awesome. |
hahaha to put the WHOOLLLE forum full of info onto one post... and to answer ur question.
most ppl keep it on. the 370z's vdc is probably one of the more "transparent" types. When cornering it doesn't feel like ur engine has no power. it feels pretty good actually, it feels like u are doing all the driving even though vdc is helping. honestly i think most NORMAL drivers would probably be just as fast with vdc on as opposed to off. but anyways, we on this forum have seen our fair share of wrecked Zs from vdc off in tricky conditions. most of us keep it on for daily driving and off at a track. |

I hydroplaned with VDC off... kinda scary... Lol.
Leave it on for daily driving and off when you want to have some fun! |

I see the VDC light up frequently, and wonder why it would have cut the throttle had it been turned on. Sharp uphill turns are where I must turn it off or it will surely make itself known. I use my brain and right foot to control wheel spin, not the VDC. This puts me in the minority and I do not care. |
Okay. Who's got the beating the dead horse smiley?
|
|
So do you guys turn it on or leave it off? Turn it on or leave it off? Turn it on or leave it off? Turn it on or leave it off?

I leave it on cuz I'm a bad driver.
|
I leave it on because I'm an Asian woman.
|
Do you drive 20 miles under the speed limit with your left blinker on too?
|
My driving was featured on an episode of Family Guy. Somebody post the video.

Everyone would have survived if only they left VDC on!
|
I hear that if you turn the VDC off, your wheels all simultaneously fall off the car and the engine bursts into flames, while the car actively aims at school buses, pedestrians, bikers/cyclists, or police vehicles. So I make sure to leave it on.

That explains it - Sebastien Buemi must have turned off his VDC!
