haha, to be honest, he was running his mouth at work for a few weeks straight, talkin about how his is making 450whp with his CAI/Tune, always driving past me revving his crappy flowmaster exhaust, figured i'd take him out and humble him up a bit. He was so pissed afterwards that he sat on the tarmac for an hour next to his car sulking like a lil beotch. Came to work this monday and said he was trading it in for a Brembo 3.73 Premium GT, I LOL'ed.

I got scatted on by a nasty Turbo Neon as well when I had my Z, found out the guy was a soldier about two weeks later and was making 500+whp. Asshole. But in the end, a neon is still a neon, 500whp or not.

^^ haha yeah, im pretty sure if i asked him if he wanted to trade there would be zero hesitation.

Red370 11-10-2010 11:39 AM

I never understood why those Roush guys buy that crap car for as much as it costs instead of buying a real car in the same price range like the GT500. M4, perhaps you can chime in.

Nitex 11-10-2010 11:42 AM

LOL nice kill M4!

Oddly, a metal piece came flying out from the bottom of his car and all of a sudden (granny shifting and all) he was passing me. I had to hit my secretz hidden NOS button to win. By an inch but hey... you can ask anyone..

Status probably. Unless you get one of their supercharged models it doesn't really make any sense to get one. But the Roush cars are generally better "values" than Saleen or Shelby if you insist on buying a pre-modded car.

The Z takes nearly 6 seconds to do 5-60 (5.8), while the GT500 takes 4.5. It is a very considerable difference.

A lot of reviews came up with a time much closer to 5 secs for the z

My uncle has a ZR1 vette, I made the mistake of driving it, now my Z feels like a damn go cart.

m4a1mustang 11-10-2010 12:55 PM

I think it's good to drive a different car every now and then. There was a week last winter where I was stuck driving a '97 Buick LeSabre. It really made me miss my Z!

JB1 11-10-2010 12:58 PM

I jumped from a building the other day, since then all elevators feel slow...

370zsport09 11-10-2010 12:59 PM

Feelin' Slow??? ADD These....Guaranteed FAST :)

Add these to increase horsepower and numb the slow Z feelin' :)

:iagree: it is good. And not even to make the Z feel better. I just like driving as many different cars as I can when I get the opportunity. I like to feel the differences, play with new toggles and gauges, see how different the car feels in traffic, etc.

I think this is part of what makes someone an enthusiast. If you've ever looked at your buddy's junker with its keys in your hands and thought, "this'll be fun", you are an enthusiast. If you've been in that same spot and thought, *huff puff* "My car is better, so this will be bothersome", then you're an elitist. Note, the two groups often overlap. :icon17:

lolz, I would do that, but I have been putting more of my time and money into my trucks performance, and dare I say I would be willing to bet in a straight line it would hang, if not beat, my Z.

With that said though, there is miller motorsports park right by where I'm living now and there is absolutely NO replacement for the feeling in the pit of my stomach as the Z takes a corner and hugs it. I have no regrets buying my Z just for the pure driving experience it gives me in the twisties. It is so much fun to through the car around and I have learned so much about performance driving since I bought it. I have driven a little bit of everything thats comparable to the Z and I still think that the Z is the best car for the money.

True, coming out of a wheelie at 101mph in first gear tends to spoil a mans sense of speed on an everyday basis

Hahah i agree shado!

Back in the day (yes, I am old), sports cars weren't expected to be muscle cars too. This concept is relatively new. I had a Triumph Spitfire that was lucky to do 0-60 in 12 secs and on an upgrade would lose speed in top gear. However, it could corner flat at any speed I dared drive. There was a whole generation of sports cars that raced inside different classes that had horsepower limits. Since my last sports car was a MR2 (which replaced my 240Z), which was big fun to drive as was the 240Z, neither car was a powerhouse, I was a little startled to see my 370 packing 332 hp. The 0-60 is plenty fast for me. I have the AT and it has a great downshift. If I floor it, I find myself over 5,000 rpm and the AT doesn't upshift until redline. Major fun.

I also agree that the car is going much faster than I think when I am not looking at the speedo. Typically, I find myself at 85 or 90 when I meant to go (cough cough) the legal 70. Taking turns at speed gets the heart racing. I keep waiting to feel understeer cut in and instead I just stick to the line. That is amazing! Yes, there are many faster cars. Lot's have better acceleration and top speeds. But for me, at least, nothing I have driven is more fun than my 370 (2010).
