How come the letters before the serial number on the VIN of my 2011 don't match the chart? "JN1AZ4EH2BM..." After the first six digits, it does not correspond to the chart categories.

And the first two digits of my serial number are "55." What's that; mid-year production?

So for coupes it goes.....

40_ _ _ _ = 2009
50_ _ _ _ = 2010
55_ _ _ _ = 2011

Is this correct?

No one ever answered my question above.

I have my VIN# now for my 2012 and it's 60 _ _ _ .

Question, do the last 3 - 4 digits mean the car # produced? In other words, if say my car is 60150 it's the 150th 2012 model year car made?

Just wonderin'.......
