Why do they do that?

Why do people drive 10mph below speed limit. As soon as they see a light turning yellow or red, they gun it and blow by the red light. What kind

That's a death wish!

Just yesterday I saw someone do this. Another car, turning left at the stop light, thought they were stopping. Then the car floored it right through the light. What an a**hole! The car turning left had to jerk the wheel back into the center lane.

Basically anyone with a pulse and is breathing can easily get a drivers license in this country. I always drive with that attitude that everyone around me is an idiot and that I can assume that they don't see me. I learned that at an early age on motorcycles and it has stuck with me ever since.

Sounds very similar to what my dad taught me. Assume everyone around you is an idiot and plan for them to do the stupidest thing you can imagine. This has saved me a few times to, and its amazing when you start to think of the stupidest thing someone might do, a lot of times they actually do it.

i have about a 50% success rate in anticipating stupidity and it actually occurring....if i can see that the person is on the cell phone, then its roughly 75% lol.

You know if you survey people about their driving ability, far more than 50% say they are "above average", which of course is statistically impossible. (that also means that only half the people around you are idiots, but you're still safer assuming everyone is)

defensive driving=assume everyone else is not paying any attention and has poor judgement.

I've always drove like every car around me is going to do something ridiculous and has saved me a ton of times, but when I hopped on a motorcycle my state of mind was modified to ride like every driver around me is trying to kill you

I work in New Orleans and I found that down here you either have to drive super defensively or super aggressively. Its when you drive somewhere between that you get into accidents.

Since I do drive the Z to work, I have only one choice....

I have totalled two Pathfinders in the last 11 years. But I think I'm a good driver.

I feel the same about those on freeways cruising below the speed limit and as soon as I try to pass them they speed up and don't let me pass?
And once I speed up and pass them they come up to me and give me the finga????
I'd say not too many out there have common sense or courtesy. Just angry people who are quick to give you a finga for nothing.

I slow down for the yellow so the guy behind me that's been riding my azz thinks I'm stopping. Then I gun through while he's stuck either stopping or running the red.

And then I flick my cigarette butt out the window at the passing mother pushing a baby stroller all while veering wildly off course in order to put that stupid squirrel out of it's misery... *thump*!
