fixed ;)

i've posted this many a time, those that doubt the 5.0, realize that this car does 10's for less than 4 grand.

Where have you been? Any Z vs. [insert car here] thread turns into a nutswinging contest.

If you ask me, we should all buy Hyundai Genesis Coupes and marvel at our wonderous warranties. :icon17:

What is a warranty?

It's this magical idea of love and friendship that makes all your problems go away for 10-years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

When I had my 2003 GT I was afraid of LS1s.

When I had my 370Z I was afraid of LS1s.

Now that I have my 5.0, I'm STILL afraid of LS1s.

They are either 1) beaten to hell and run like shiite or 2) are well kept and modded to hell.

Damn you, GM. :icon18:

I know of a lot of LS1's, and I know of a LOT of LS1's beaten to hell, but none of them were ever slow. POS's? Sure, but fast ones, lol. My LS1 put a lot of cars in their place that it had no business stomping.

I sold a 98 Z28 automatic with 114K miles on it when I worked at a dealership. Guy bolted DR's on and ran consistant 13.1's with it at the strip bone stock + a Flowmaster muffler (which loses hp over a stock muffler on an LS1).

Later, he dropped in a stall, cam, spray, and a built transmission he had laying around (he owned a shop) and was running consistant 10.30's@133mph. Had about $2500-3500+the trans invested.

He finally blew it up doing a wheel-stand on the street, oil starvation, spun main.

The article pretty much gives the trophy to the GT 5.0 over the Z. Those that think otherwise are hanging onto a single sentence in that entire article (the 'choosing the Z for the track' line). Personally though I prefer the look and lines of the Z than the retro nature of the Mustang. It's just my personality to like sleek and modern over retro and old-school.

Put the GT's driveline over the Z's suspension and slap the Z's wrapper around it and you would have perfection.

:iagree: i think you hit the hammer on the head with that one buddy, the Mustang doesnt inspire looks of excitement and wonder for sure, but its one hell of a platform.

I dunno, I love how it looks. The Z is very sleek and sexy and the Mustang is very rough and badass looking. I want both in my driveway!!!

370ZR sometime in the future...
