Walking away is the most important aspect here. Thank goodness.
When the head air bags deploy, does it push your head back towards the cars middle? What is the sensation. I am curious. Again I am happy to hear you two are fine.

Wow man. Glad you both are fine. Sorry about the Z, but hay its a new chapter in your life (when it comes to cars at least lol) Keep us posted.

HKYStormFront 10-07-2010 09:34 AM

sucks but glad you are ok mane. good luck with everything and keep us updated :)

Thankfully, everything turned out ok. The Z looks like it took that accident well, but remember guys. Your cars are fairly small. If you wrecked with a wreckless truck or large vehicle, the size of your vehicles will be at a greater disadvantage to the average sized car. It is imperitive to be extra careful. All your safety equipment are aids to assist. tcs, vdc, airbags, abs, ebd, etc... can't stop an accident. In the end its your natural abilities as drivers that will save your lives. Be careful and god bless all.

Wow, that looks bad! Glad you are OK. Obviously, you have Miata doors installed!

chuckd05 10-07-2010 01:16 PM

ill take your brakes.. im come strip them off your car...

when your car is totalled there is normally a small fee to buy the car back from them..

i bought a frinds 2001 s4 when he totalled it from him for the 1200 the insurance company wanted and than sold the motor for 2 times that in 10 minutes on the audi/vw forums.. sold the seats, and some other parts and made a fortune...

Yikes, glad you guys are ok. Looks very similiar to my sisters new Max all airbags deployed as well, which they totalled out as well 2 weeks ago. Guy clipped her in the rear and sent her, her grandbabby and the Max into a pole (had 6,900 miles on it). She had minor injuries and the grandbabby was frightned but not hurt thank god.

Glad to know you 2 are ok! I have been in a similar situation w/ a tC.

fairladyZ34 10-07-2010 03:29 PM

thanks everyone, im glad too that i made it alive. a half second later and i probably wouldnt be typing or posting about this. as far as a part out goes, i dont know yet. i have some off the car parts listed in a for sale thread. and as far my next car i think im gonna consolidate and sell my daily driver (2000 accord) for the down payment on a 08 acura tl type s. and keep them difference that my insurance is giving me

6MT 10-07-2010 03:32 PM

Glad you're OK. Cars are replaceable.... you are not.

wilsonp 10-07-2010 05:50 PM

Sad that you won't get another Z. Or at least a sports car. Glad that you're ok.

Wish there were better ways to teach drivers about distraction/attention versus speed.

Dwight Frye 10-07-2010 05:54 PM

You were texting or otherwise di*king with a phone, weren't you ? Glad you and the GF are OK, but if you were "distracted" by doing something known to be dangerous you are a menace to society.
