Glad you're ok, sucks about the car though. >_<
Even at 30 mph, a car crash can still do devastating things. I'm in the military and I've seen HUMMV's get f**ked up at 30-40 mph, when hitting stationary objects. (And I'm not talking about explosives, I'm talking about just normal objects.) They're also considerably beefer then a 370z is. Also, was talking with a Nissan rep and they said that if Nissan has to fix/repair a part, they just swap it for a new one, which might be why it's so highly priced. But I don't know any more about it then that, I've been blessed to not have had to go through an accident, yet. (knock on wood) Been in a few accidents but always as the passenger and not the driver, nor my vehicle. Anyways, glad you're no worse for the wear, best of luck to you and I hope they get back to you in solid condition with minimal paint difference. |
Happy to buy your calipers if you part out the car :)

+1 I've been considering it for awhile. I always call for a tow, I would never drive on a spare. |

Im glad I didnt get a 40th, cause it seems those things are cursed.

I had to get rid of my spare because of stereo modifications, so far its not so bad you lose about 47lbs with the tire/rim & jacking gear. I have a small compressor and a bottle of slime along with my tow bar.

they're waiting on a Driver Side Seat Cover... they told me the whole time, that's what the hold up has been. this is just ridiculous... it's been 2 months tomorrow since i was in the accident. |

FINALLY GOT MY CAR BACK
this bodyshop was horrible. i'm going to be going after them with all I can. if anyone can give me tips on how to file a report on this shop, that'd be great. i've gotten some info, but more is always welcomed. i have to take it to another bodyshop to get 3 interior panels replaced that the bodyshop scraped up. i spoke with the agent who handled my car, and i'll be giving him a call tomorrow to get all the information on making this bodyshop pay for the repairs. i even had 33 miles unaccounted for on my car. i understand road testing, but 33 miles? they even played with my custom sound system and almost blew my sub. this whole thing was just freaking rediculous. car went in September 28th 2010 i got it back January 7th 2011 it took them OVER 3 MONTHS to repair my car... I need to be compensated for all the money I lost having to pay for rentals because the bodyshop refused to pay anything. for anyone inside the ventura, ca area. STAY AWAY FROM "BARBER FORD BODYSHOP." they are horrible in every way possible. |
bummer... :(

Sounds like a pretty crappy shop, three months is unreal. I tend to stay away from dealer owned body shops. It seems good body shops are few and far between. I was lucky, found a great one with references and they even took me around the shop. Three weeks and 11K later I had the car back in preistine condition, I found a deer on an on ramp. I felt good dropping it off, there were several high end benz's, BWM's, and a GTR in the shop when I dropped my Z off. I wish your situation could have been as good as mine was.

damn, wish i had that shop. you know what their excuse was for the wait? they were waiting on a piece of a seat cover... they ordered the wrong part multiple times. they even tried to make me pay for one of the tires. |
That really sucks man, good thing you don't have composite panels like a WS6 or something might of even taken longer
|
3 months that's insane!

Sounds shady. They should have at the very least put the seat back in with a temp. cover while they waited for the correct part. The interior molding around the seat belt was torn in my car. They offered the car back to me until it came in a week later but I have other sets of wheels so I told them they could keep it. Your shop should pay for the rental car at the very least for all your troubles, after all it was their fault the car wasn't given back to you in a timely mannor. I'd say with parts and work the damage to your car shouldn't have taken more then two - three weeks to complete if the shop wasn't overly busy and backed up. Oh and the GTR that was in the shop while I was there came from an owner that had the work botched by another shop and was having it redone by the place I took my car too. I've since sent more work their way. The best thing to do is ask around about body shops. |
