I would never buy a Mustang, because it's never appealed to me. But this is the best Mustang yet. If you compare the numbers you'll notice it handles and performs just like a Z (almost) but with more power. Congrats!

I had never like the new Mustangs except the GT350 or GT500 and of course the old school ones.

Show me a car that has a full glass roof that is in the same price range as the GT stang? Don't worry I'll wait.
Show me a car that allows me to personalize the color of the dash/mood lighting to any color I choose.
Show me a car that that sounds like a beast w a simply cat back exhaust that is in the price range of the 11 mustang.
The navigation w/ sync will give you a hard on. I'd go into more detail but it's just that good. And I compared both side by side between my boss' 11 mustang and my 09 Z w/ Nav.

Now, don't get me wrong. I still chose my 370z even today with the new 11 mustang on showrooms. But that's because Ford still has not put an automatic transmisison in the mustang that will allow me to shift it like a manual.
And I know your response will be just get a manual. And I'd love to. But my right leg was blown off overseas. I'll never leave the Z family until Ford will make a slightly nicer interior & a "tiptronic" auto in the mustang.

I've never been a huge fan of the Mustang but this new engine, handling and especially pricing is very enticing.

The new 5.0 is a nice car no doubt.---BUUUT--- Personally the only car that I would consider if I was to choose something else besides the 370z would be a C6 Vette. After I pay off "baby" I'm gettin me a C6 GS. :happydance:

I just have to chime in again. Guys, the Stang 5.0 is SICK. It is a very nice car especially for the money. Let's not be narrow minded.

That said, the only car I would part ways with my Z for is a GTR... and I may be doing that shortly... werd.

But, more seriously, Ford's quality has significantly improved in recent years.

:iagree: totally and the new stang will have a few bad apples too. All cars do. Dont know why when its all built the same but it happens. I have put 23K miles on my Z in around 15 months and havent had a problem yet. No ECU whine and the hatch was fixed with the new fix, other than that no problems other than the excessive amount of people that pull up to it and say what a cool looking car it is. I just want more power cuz Im used the Z power already.

So - are you putting Miata doors on that new 'stang? :p

I'm really impressed with the performance of the new mustang. Even though physical changes are EXTREMELY subtle, it does look better than previous years. BUT...
I know this much... the stangs increased performance is only shown on the track. Take that POS live axle on the road and take a turn too hard and you are all over the place. God forbid its raining, that's pretty much a suicide mission with every block you drive.
Generally the stang is annoying cuz its just everywhere. That style has been in production 6 years. They sold around 100,000 a year. Between the 93-04 models and the 05-up models mustangs are utterly annoying.. I give them props for being the only sports car to stay around aside from the vette. But, I just could be part of the eternal sea of cheesy looking mustangs on the highway.
I'm sure the performance is top notch though and on track day u r sure to have loads of fun. I just hope the op has a real car for the streets. Cuz the stang outside of a track or well paved highway road sucks.

I don't know where you're getting that because I certainly don't feel like I'm all over the place with the live axle. I drive over bumpy *** roads and honestly it feels no worse than the Z did. This thing does NOT drive like my '03 and not even anything like the '05-09s for that matter.

And I just drove it home tonight in some torrential downpours and it was just fine. Again, no worse than the Z.

Sounds like the OP got unreasonably upset too quickly and did not give the Zed a chance, it seems that he assumes that new cars should be perfect and that there are no teething problems. shame really
