How about a mandatory chip that would "sync up" with whatever the speed limit is on the road you are driving on. It would then act like a governor/limiter with the max speed being whatever the posted sign is.

But are they really looking to stop speeding or are they just using "public safety" as an excuse to generate revenue?

so when you need to pass someone or get out of the way of a runaway truck or someone goes to change lanes into you can't accellerate to get out of the way?

20????..... I got a ticket on I77 for only going 7mph over. Cop was a d*ck. Plus you can't use radar detectors in VA. :wtf2:

Discretion is up to the cop. Bottom line, if they decide to ticket you, then all those charges are mandatory for 1st offense, including impounding your car for a week. And man, I don't even wanna get into charges for a second ticket!
Something about cattle prods .........

Drives in the backroads of BC are great! This is a good warning for the down South visitors.

Two words: Cruise control

In Ontario if you are 50k's and over you get a street racing ticket. Car is taken for 24hrs :icon14:

yup 50 kiph, but i guess thats... reasonable.... theres not much reason for you to be doing 100 in a 50 zone. besides cops are usually nice if ur not a douche to them and if u dont look like a street racing thug.

That is the 1st here is 2nd and 3rd offense.

Those busted for excessive speeding a second time will have their vehicles impounded for 30 days and can expect to shell out as much as $1,243 up front, plus a $370 annual driver-risk premium each year for three years.

For third-time and subsequent excessive-speeding offenses within two years, drivers will suffer a 60-day vehicle impoundment and be charged as much as $1,903 plus an additional $430 ICBC <-(mandatory insurer in B.C.)premium each year for three years.

Currently My Z is $600 annually for ICBC's portion and $600 to top up others like collision an comprehensive, fora grand total of $1200.00 a year for full coverage on my Z

Speeding doesn't kill, it's the sudden stop against a highway divider that will. ;)
