You will need winter tires.

Tjai370Z 09-16-2010 12:22 AM

thank you! but i hope there would be a video instead of just pictures of the setup. I want to actually see of how well it works.

Tjai370Z 09-16-2010 12:22 AM

do you drive your nismo in the winter?

Cell 09-16-2010 12:29 AM

I have yet to drive it in winter. I have only owned my car for a little more than 3 weeks.

I will not be driving it in winter as I do not feel like plowing snow for the city. I don't want to also deal with all the salt that the city throws on the ground. Chicago uses a TON of salt and we all know how much damage salt does to all cars.

Sorry there were issues with AK's vid :(

Tjai370Z 09-16-2010 12:39 AM

yeah I actually enjoyed watch it cuz i was just amazed on how well it does. AK seems to talk about how well the 370z drives in the snow.
i think i should be pretty confident. thanks guys!

Vegitto-kun 09-16-2010 06:39 AM

might not be needed

but get the sport + touring package.

the nismo version is just not worth it. I find that the nismo version is more for bragging right.

look at my NISMO Z yeah im totally a racing driver.

car handles pretty well on snow even with the stock tires. I got my Z in the middle of winter snow and ice everywhere.

just be carefull

As long as you have a good set of winter wheels and snow tires almost any car is going to do pretty well in light to moderate snow.

Take a ride in both and compare them back to back. Maybe you can feel a difference other than the ride stiffness between the two.

The OP really seems like he wants the added features of the Touring package, though. As a daily driver I would settle for no less than the Sport/Touring. The NISMO is far too bare-bones for me. If I was looking for a weekend/track day fun car, I would probably pick up the NISMO...

But for the daily grind you can't beat the convenience of Bluetooth and Homelink or the luxury of leather, heated seats and a Bose sound system, which, for all intents and purposes, is a good system for those that aren't audiophiles.

I can right now order the whole NISMO 370z OEM body kit for $3400. And $2K for wing.

The front bumper is like only $800 or so.

OP sounds like hes 18...? anyone else feel this?

klubbheads 09-17-2010 05:09 PM

^ a little bit..
For me like someone else mentioned, it was the body that i was sold on more than anything else. I don't think the handling is any different unless it is a very smooth track that you're going to drive on with the car's full potential. Softer suspension on the regular Z is actually better for most roads/canyons/parking lots like this magazine tested. Nismo suspension is easier to upset and get it out of balance because the rebound on the shocks/springs is really quick so any small inperfections on the road will unsettle the car.

The only way to find out which one is really faster is to have a pro do laps on the same track on the same day back to back. 99.99% of the people on this forum will not be able to distingwish the difference so it all depends on your skills to faster no matter if you have nismo or not.
