Big Problem with Hackensack Nissan

Okay guys I've been on this forum for awhile now and I know I haven't posted much but I've had enough... So Hackensack Nissan is the closest dealership to my house so I decided to go to them for ANY problems... FIRST MISTAKE! Back in March I notcied my car would seem like it was stalling or kind of bucking when I would drive it steady. And as I was driving my z on the highway it just turned off.. Thank God for Triple A! I had them tow it to Hacken Nissan located in Hackensack, NJ. The service manager calls me saying that they'll have to take a look at the problem and they'll call me right back. The next day I get a call from the service manager saying that they fixed the problem and it was because of low oil. AMAZED... This car is brand new and it was already giving ME problems! A few weeks later I find that my car is still acting up so I take it back to the dealership. They tell me that I need a new shortblock. I wait patiently for months and they finally receive the shortblock and they work on my Z. A week goes by and they say it's all good to go! :happydance: Couple days as I was getting some gas I noticed a strange smell like gasoline inside my Z! I pull aside and pop my hood and find that this was leaking tons of liquid!

I called the dealership right away and they have me bring my Z back! I was furious! This was my second time at the dealership and not even a week went by without getting problems! I could've died driving my Z and the service manager and mechanic told me they probably forgot something!

.................................................. ...........:shakes head:

They fix it and I'm "good to go". Now a few months go by and I noticed my engine oil sign coming up on my dash. And I'm thinking to myself I didn't even drive too much but decided to change my oil. I pop my hood and I see engine oil all over my engine bay and when I took my bottom cover off it was smothered in engine oil.. AND GUESS WHO CHANGED MY OIL PREVIOUSLY? That's right Nissan of Hackensack.. I changed my oil and went to them. They blammed it on my aftermarket oil filter saying that was the cause. WHEN I JUST CHANGED MY OIL THAT DAY BEFORE I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP! AMAZING I KNOW! This was the last strike for them I was done with this dealership... So today I decided to clean my Z. I popped open my hood and find this

LOVELY, another freaking problem!:shakes head:
I take it back to Hackensack Nissan and they blame it on me saying I took it to another shop for work. What work? I never took my Z to any other shop. And then they brought up the fact that I had an aftermarket oil filter from before, when I do my own oil change at home. That didn't even relate to this problem! So now they are charging ME $120.02 for PIPE ASSY AIR Part # 16576-EY00B without labor costs... They are blaming it on my aftermarket intakes. This is ridiculous, I expected great service from Nissan and they have been letting me down constantly. I refuse to pay for something that I did not do especially when this dealership always made mistakes on my Z. What do you guys think?!

wow... might be a good time to review service manual and do some of the work on your own. :)

GL with the fix and find another dealer~~

Trips 09-10-2010 04:03 PM

Time to ditch that dealer!!
I have some near me that I just avoid cause of the mods.
Fontana Nissan FTW!!

shumby 09-10-2010 04:09 PM

call nissan consumer affairs adn file a complaint. this is not accetaple. Tell them you are will to take legal action to get this resolved. Be ready to baCK THIS UP. I had an issues with my dealer a year back and that is what it took. they now treat me like gold and even manage to do warrenty work on my after market parts

Cmike2780 09-10-2010 04:10 PM

If you want something done right.....you gotta do it yourself.

There has to be another Nissan dealer in your area. Go somewhere else for warranty work and forget these assclowns.

You could probably repair the part that broke yourself. Sorry to say, but I think the intake was to blame. That tubing looks too short and the clamp looks overtightened.
Engine vibration sheared it off. You could probably find that part cheaper on the net or from a forum sponsor.

Give Nissan a call and complain if you think you have a case.

Good luck

I do not blame these intakes at all, these are great!
I'm positive it was the mechanics faults

Lol at that also. I don't think he was making fun of him, but it's has a slightly racist undertone.

Doesn't matter whether or not it was on pupose. The fact that I've had so many problems with them within couple months is what gets me.. :shakes head:

I hear you. Had the same kind of headache with my RX8 at a Mazda dealership. There was one month when I was there 5 times for the same problem. It seems like some dealers dont give a ratsass anymore, unless they can make money off you.

Yeah, I guess but which dealer isn't in it to make money off of people..
I will continue to update on this issue.

That's when if all else fails....LEMON LAW :) If you take your car back to the dealership 3x and problem isn't fixed...report a claim to lemon law and they will do what they can...and it won't cost you a penny! A very fine way to get a new car

sonic370 09-10-2010 07:58 PM

Sorry but you drove your car until it got so low on oil it cut off! If i understood you right. I'm surprised the dealer even honored the warranty.

I was at my dealership a couple of weeks ago when a guy had his Z towed in
that had locked up on the highway. it had 7500 miles on it and had never even
changed the oil. it had 1 quart in it. 12 grand later he got his car back.

the dealership actually recommended I change the oil every 7500 miles max since it's synthetic. The engine shouldn't consume that much oil anyways. I changed every 3000 and check levels every other fill up and found very little consumption, even when I'm nearing an oil change. There was someone here with that problem a while back, maybe the same guy?

PM me for Nissan of North America Customer Service email and some other interesting email addresses that will get their attention if you are on the East Coast.

Holliday 09-11-2010 12:57 AM

I can't believe there are this many people having oil level issues. Wether it'' burning too much oil or the level is low, I can't believe with all the technology they put in our cars that a pressure light or low oil level sensor was never added!?!?

I check my oil every so often and I defiantly don't wait 7,500 miles, but now I read sh$t like this and start checking it daily! HAHA! I can't even imagine how many people are having this problem that are not even associated with the forum to report it. I hope people read these finding s and check there oil before it's too late!

Good luck to all

Vegitto-kun 09-11-2010 07:31 AM

DAMN! They sure f%&ked that intake up! Hope you made them replace the entire system! That is why I do my own work. I don't trust any dealership that's fo sho!

Vegitto-kun 09-11-2010 09:33 AM

Yeaaah, I don't trust myself with my car haha.

+ I trusted them since they have the only GT-R technician in belgium and he did the install.
