Most of the 370z owners I have driven near on the roads have been total A-holes. I've been cut off, almost hit, and given dirty looks. One even tried to race me... 350z people I've seen at least seem to be indifferent.

edub370 06-13-2012 11:34 AM

i drove by a dude in a red 370z for about 3 miles on the highway the other day. while his gf smiled and gave me a nod, he refused to look over, or even glance in my direction. hoever some are nice.

i think dealers should interview possible buying candidates to weed out douchbaggery

kenchan 06-13-2012 11:45 AM

well, if anyone's near my car when im motoring, wave :hello: cause you're on video. :icon17: whether you like it or not.

Get waved at all the time here in the valley and north of LA. Was given a thumbs up from Fontana on the day I picked up the car from driver in his modded 350 he looked like he was in his 20's. I Gave another 350 driver a thumbs up on I-5 and he returned the favor. We waved at each other, he had long silver hair and could tell by his reaction that he was an enthusiaZt. Another driver in 370 gave me a thumbs up and we just cruised down for a few miles on I-5. Thought that was cool. All in all, I have yet to experience bad vibe from other Z owners. I just motion to them how I like their car and all is cool. You get back what you give to others I suppose.

Apoc370z 06-13-2012 01:18 PM

Funny you should mentioned.. This is what happened to me last night...

I was on my way home from work last night heading 57 south and i saw a GM Z (same color as mine). It is rare enough to see another Z on the streets so i wanted to get at least a glimpse of the driver.

Long story short, the dbag that was driving it acccelerates everytime i try to drive next to his/her car. I thought it was unintentional the first time but i am convinced that the driver is just being a ****.

hell if you honk your horn at someone today you are guaranteed a one finger
wave for sure..............

This is true more often than not and most Z owners like it or not don't know or give S**t about its history, its just a nice looking car to them!

UNKNOWN_370 06-13-2012 02:16 PM

Hey no hate needed.... sure we have the updated premium look, but they have the sickest colors that we can't compete with. Nissan shytted on Z34 color palette and the 33 was blessed. The 350 is still a great looking car. The Z33 looks more athletic while the Z34 has a muscle car stance. Both beautiful cars. But haters gonna hate.

this is true. im not a nissan-guy or z-guy at all. i just happened to luv the 370Z and had to have one. :) and it's just a coincidence i also have an infiniti branded nissan. i am not a fan of the 350Z and preferred the G35C. im also not a fan of the G37C.

if honda released a S3000 with a hard top, i'd probably get that next.

anthonyy 06-13-2012 03:25 PM

Seriously though, Z owners don't like to look in my direction either.

Once in a while, when they do... I'm all like

My GF had gotten to the point that she flips off 350 drivers because every time we wave at one we get the cold shoulder LOL

If you've got a z32 or prior, you have an old Z, and clearly, you like z's, because people don't drive 15+year old sports cars unless they are enthusiastic about them. if you've got a z34 you just bought a new car, and chances are if you're willing to drop more money for the newer version of the car, you're more enthusiastic about it than the person who says 'i'll just get a 350 because its cheaper (not that there is anything wrong with that).' 350Z could be anywhere from 3-7 years old, which puts them in an affordable price range for someone who is just looking for a fast, nice looking car, but not necessarily a Z enthusiast.

so more to the point, a Z enthusiast would be willing to either:
A: drive an 15+ year old car because they love it
B: Drop the extra cash to get the newest model Z around.

You don't need to do either of those things in order to own a 350Z, making it the most likely Z for a non Z enthusiast to own.

350 drivers were jerks right out of the shoot. In 2003 I started waving in my Z32 and no wave then either.

i get confused when 350 guys wave.

It's just a car...a consumer product...a mode of transportation that I enjoy.

If I don't know you, you don't even get a second look. I'm not a snob, but there are too many reckless, competitive, poser, douchbag "enthusiasts" on the road as it is.

Don't take it personally if someone doesn't wave.

sounds pretty snobby to me :roflpuke2:

shadoquad 06-14-2012 02:41 PM

To be a bit more rational, enthusiasts are not all reckless, competitive, poser, douchebag, etc etc etc... Don't know where that image comes from.

Some people simply get excited about their car and other nice cars.

If someone waves, you can decline to wave back, but it is an unfriendly snub.

Just waving back takes no effort and makes a stranger smile. And it's fun to see other people who drive the same car. It means you have common ground.

If I wave to you and you ignore me, how is it not personal?

This is true, so sorry if you assumed that I meant ALL enthusiasts are that way.

If I see you wave at me and it's safe...I'll likely wave back. Just don't slit your wrists if I don't wave back or initiate a wave. I might be focusing on the road instead of you.

Dammit....I bled all over my Interior for nothing ?

All I had was a butter Knife, but I finally got them slit...

Just Kidding...

I do not wave at every 370Z mainly because I never see one. Kinda cool that there are not that many on the road in my Area..

You see plenty of Camaro's, Mustang's, 350Z's, 300 Chrysler Bentley wanna be's, but no 370'z.. And never a Z/28 like mine, and I like being different..

But if someone waves at me, I will wave back...

We're part of a brotherhood, you better risk it and give me a wave or a damn salute!
