First, I'm going to repeat my fervent opinion, which is that a sports car ought to come with road noise.

But to be helpful, I'm going to suggest you look into a sound muffling product like "Second Skin". Do a search for them on these forums and see what the cost and quality are like.

I was going to say the roads in wa aren't that bad but I see you are in wa. I don't think the z is that loud, except On some parts of i5.

IMHO, roads around the Pugeot Sound have a fairly rough texture, which causes most of the road noise. Compared to other states I've driven in the stuff in WA could be a lot better. Supposedly there is an upcoming I5 project to use a form of rubber asphalt, but who knows when that will happen. It's the same stuff they put on 520 a couple years ago, which was then promptly torn up by snow chains.

Does anyone have experience with both second skin as well as dynamat? Which one seems to block out the most noise, and more importantly, which one weighs less?

no experience with second skin but the dynamat i used was no more than 15lbs and got noticiably quieter.

two of these for the trunk and rear arches.

Give it time and you'll get used to it. Otherwise you can laden your car with sound deadening material, buy different tires (the Bridgestones are noisy), add a catback exhaust, or get a different car.

The Z is a true sports car. Your going to have some road noise. How loud it will be will depend on the condition of the road itself. You can have the dealership spray an under coating on underneath to help reduce the noise, wear ear plugs, crank up the stereo, or find a new ride. The noise is part of the sports car experience.. Good luck!!!

its a sports car you get use to the road noise, which i can live with but i may add some dampening material. but to me what's amazing is how smooth this car drives it's really got a good ride for a 2 seater.
