370z challenger srt8

a little birdie told me that a 370z can pull on a challenger srt8 from 100 to 140:ughdance:

klubbheads 09-01-2010 05:09 PM

not a big surprise..... Z is pretty slipery at high speeds along with G35/37s.

Jeffblue 09-01-2010 05:11 PM

how did you race a boat on land?

90 ST 09-01-2010 05:28 PM

Spec wise it should be faster...

Oh the laughter, that is awesome. Truly I would like to know?

Auston 09-01-2010 06:06 PM

Challenger srt8s have only .2 seconds faster than the 370Z 0-60, pretty much a driver's race straight line

One_Quick_Z 09-01-2010 07:15 PM

Yup those and the Chargers are easy targets at the track, I killed Both R/T versions and a SRT at Byron Raceway last fall :)

Such nice looking cars in my opinion, and great motors. They just need to hop on the wagon and realize that the style works, but the weight does not.

fullmonty 09-01-2010 10:46 PM

Challengers look pretty but fail at driving. Thus the reason I bought the Z

Pretty on the outside, the interior looks like poop!

Cjanik 09-01-2010 10:58 PM

how come nobody can make a perfect car?

That's one of the main reasons I also bought the Z. The challenger is easy on the eyes but wasn't as fun to drive. Although, someday if I were to ad another car to the garage (in the same price range) it might be the challenger...hmmm, maybe a GT500...

90 ST 09-02-2010 12:52 AM

Yep the weight kills it, i was going to go with a Camaro SS, but the car is so heavy considering.

The Challenger/300C/Charger SRT8 people laugh at cars like ours if we'd have the unfortunate occurrence of getting in an accident. Hey, different strokes, right? Wait until they get their new 6.4L for the 2011/2012 with the 8-speed ZF. Bye!

I still love the Challenger ads.

The best challenger add is the George Washington one. :usa:

TheWeatherman 09-02-2010 09:31 AM

Hey m4a1mustang, still the best ad EVER! (For a car guy, and yes, I know it's the Charger.) Everytime the transition to the talking to the sound of the V8 revving, I get this snarky snarl on my face, and just feel like saying, "Yeah! My car! Eat my carbon footprint!"

It's called a Lotus Exige ;)

But yes the Challanger/Charger are both great low end torque cars, in a straight line LOL.

I just sold my Dodge Charger V8 HEMI to get the 370Z Nismo, and I love it.

Oh, and here's a video of a Lotus on Top Gear:

This will run circles around the Exige.

The amount of power those Challengers put down after a S/C, exhaust, tune, etc. is pretty ridiculous....nearly doubling the Z at that point.

I'm not a fan of the new Challengers though. They made them WAY too big for my taste.

and then do the same to a Z and it's still lighter...

But it's not so fun to drive if the weather gets crappy...

ProfessorDave 09-03-2010 04:10 PM

I predict the next retro muscle car will be a Baracuda. Or a Pinto.

The challenger gains way more from the exact same mods we have available for the Z. The Z's not keeping up with a fully modded STR8 no matter what you got on it, excluding a completely different motor.

I traded my 2006 R/T for a 2009 370Z MT base w/ the sport package. It was a nice torquey car, I was giving up riding sport bikes and the Z fit the bill. There's a black SRT8 in town and that thing just looks badass. It also looks good as a NC Highway Patrol cruiser.

Red370 09-03-2010 09:31 PM

all this talk of dodge is making me want to blow chunks, if you want the juice and the straight line balls out power, get ya one of these:
