For all that are curious on the changes to the 2011 370Z...

Revisions for 2011 include:

* Rear View Monitor added to Navigation Package (370Z Touring)
* One new exterior color: Gun Metallic

Not sure how reliable the source is, but seems legit. I wouldn't imagine they would change too much seeing as the 370 is only going on it's third year.

kenchan 08-16-2010 12:54 PM

humm... already added to my car via aftermarket.

guess nothing new.

WarmAndSCSI 08-16-2010 01:01 PM

Ha, I wish the 370Z got this from the beginning:

* Double clearcoat on the front and rear fascias

Nikon FM 08-16-2010 01:48 PM

I wonder how easy a retrofit from the 2009 Nav to the 2011 nav would be?

I'd like that rear view camera that looks OEM.

Not much improvements (which is good if you're like us and already have one :)), but I like the addition of the rear camera option and I hope this gun metallic is a nice really dark metallic gray.

2012 will probably bring more significant changes since that'll put the Z34 halfway thru it's lifecycle.

Maybe they'll bump the HP and torque a little bit as it happened with the Z33.. Who knows..

I bet it will be through a revised exhaust and some tuning, that would be the logical and most realistic approach. I am sure it will be nothing the aftermarket is not already providing though...

it will likely include a turbine engine and wings, so that when the entire earth is covered by flood, we can fly around in our Z's and then repopulate the world with people who have good taste in cars.

.

gun metallic for the Z is just gonna be the same color of the gun metallic GTR so nothing really new... as a trade off i hope the 12 GTR gets the dark charcoal from the 40th anniversary Z but i dobut it since blue pearl has already been confirmed and its almost identical to the bottom trim gray KAE vs KAV

Would be nice, but honestly, there's not too much left in this engine short of DI. That would give a nice little bump in fuel economy and hp. However, my gut tells me they'll save that for the Z35. Most likely the "regular" Z's will get the 350 hp that the Nismo already has and hopefully the Nismo might eek out another 10-15 hp somehow.

No, the 2012 will come with a special Mayan calander countdown to destruction option in the Z's with nav so you can know the exact time of your doom.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking about that and Juno mentioned that too me. I think the gun metallic GTR color will look nice on the Z.

I'm kinda suprised that they're going with blue, I thought Mizuno said that he didn't want to see a blue gtr?

MC 08-16-2010 07:19 PM

yeah i guess platinum graphite is gone for the Z and this replaces it? if not no way they have 2 colors that close in a line up....

yeah i dunno whats behind the about the blue for the GTR, but i do know its not going to be a heritage bayside blue, its going to be more like the blue thats already on the G37

FL 4Motion 08-16-2010 07:27 PM

I figured this would replace the PG, it has too, makes no sense whatsover for there to be two darkish gray/silver colors for the same car.

I'm still skeptical about any blue color on the R35, I jsut don't think it will work with the lines of the car etc, but I will reserve final judgement till I see it in person.

If this story is true and they are making the 2011 models with gun metallic then I will be pissed. I bought the 40th anniversary because it was limited edition with a special paint color aka different from the rest of the 370zs. I prolly sound wicked spoiled and maybe acting like a lil biatch, but i dont think Nissan would all of a sudden mass produce the gun metallic colors on the 2011 models, it would completely ruin the 2010 40ths appeal. i DONT believe this story

It has been widely rumored for a while now, and it annoys me for completely different reasons.

I agree with the sentiment that the 40th shade should remain unique. It is a special model for one year only, but I think the gun metal will probably be slightly different in shade.

But it annoys me because, if you add in black and white, we're talking about a sixth greyscale paint color: PW, BS, PG, 40th, GM, MB

It's a sports car, it deserves another eye-grabbing shade like an orange or green, or perhaps a nice dark blue to complement Monty Blue, or dare I suggest, that midnight purple that always looks so hot on GTR's.

Just my two pennies.

I would like this as well. Anyone know how difficult this will be?

I agree with every thing you said, even the orange part. I hope you are right about a different shade because the 40th shade should remain unique. I took silver since I could not get green. Is their a pigment shortage at Nissan?
I do like the back-up camera option is a good one. Somebody asked if my Nav had one and I remember saying not actually knowing "Huh, maybe it does? I never think to look forward when I am backing up. You look while I reverse it." Of course it doesn't.

fullmonty 08-18-2010 07:32 AM

It would be great if they offered bright and vibrant colors. Lord knows I didn't buy a sports car to blend in with every single other car on the road.

Don't be silly putting MX5 doors on a weaker frame is a recipe for disaster!
