I'm 54. I own my own business. I own my house (no more payments!!!) I have saved all of my life for my retirement, and it's gotten me squat. I have cash saved up to buy this car if I decide to do that. I should just go out and do it. I might be dead this time next year and never get a chance to spend any of the money I've saved. The real question: Can I ever go out in that beautiful car like I do my Buick, without doing my hair or putting on makeup, in my sweatpants? I think you lose your invisibility with a car like this -- especially in a rural Minnesota town where about all you see are trucks and SUVs. But I'm ready to feel alive and have some fun again. Thanks for the encouragement, OldGuy. |

I also have a 260Z sitting in the garage needing a money tree. :D It's on the 5 year plan. |
Awww, come on Mitzmin...
I am 50 and bought my 370Z in May of this year. I bought the coupe with sports package and 6 MT. You are never too old to be a sports car enthusiast and enjoy the pure driving experience. In fact, I would argue that we "middle-aged" guys may very well get greater enjoyment that the "young guns". We have worlds of experience, are less likely to take excessive risks, and understand our limitations and those of our vehicles. This is no slight to the "young guns". Rather, this is a pep-talk. Get what you want and enjoy it. By the way, the AT with paddle shifters can give you the best of both worlds! |

To the original poster, I think you need to drop the hammer and go get yourself a Z, it sounds like you've earned it and had a passion for the one that you had before. Oh and get the manual trans., half the fun of having a sports car to me is being able to bang gears with a clutch pedal. |
well since everyone's telling there age i'm 56 and love the car. this is my second.
go test drive em you want regret it. the sports package is worth every penny. iv'e always had leather but really don't miss it that much. i use mine as a daily driver and never tire of pushing in that little start button. |

Well, my calendar is free tomorrow (if I can get this job outta here today), and I do believe I'm going to head up to Minneapolis and do some test driving. When I think about this, I alternately feel like throwing up or soiling myself. <grin> Today, I even went online looking for car covers and seat covers for what will, if I pull the trigger, undoubtedly become my new obsession. My pooch will NOT tolerate staying home. Where are my TUMs? Thanks, guys and gals, for your support and encouragement. Mitz |
Have fun tomorrow! Report back.

I looked at a used 260Z back in the 80's when I was in my twenties and foolish but I didn't have the money for the car and an education; I chose to invest in the latter. Twenty-five years later, I found myself with no debt and some cash, and still foolish enough to want the car. Many people told me that I was too old for the car and that it wasn't 'practical' but I did it anyway.
Got the manual because all of my cars and motorcycles are manuals...it's awesome (SRM is very good). Raw but as much fun as I expected all those years ago. Added the sport package because it looks 100% better IMO and the NAV just 'cause. We all know life is a short ride - might as well make it a fun one too. |

370 vs 300. I too had a 300 ZX TT. That switch you had to soften or firm up the suspension is now always on stiff. No T tops and overall more sports car, less luxury. More power with better handling. A slightly higher ride. This translates into less stress and strain on my old NCAA damaged knees. I too am old, yet not so old I would get an automatic. Maybe next time when I accept my age, then again I'd probably get a sedan (which you have). Watch this and see if you appreciate the review of the Automatic transmission. Never heard another thing. I guess they aren't really in the car selling business or they've sold their quota for the month. I'm going to catch up on some bookwork, make dog food (yes, I cook food for my dog), color my hair, and maybe start reading one of the books I have sitting here, ready to read. I'm real disappointed. But I've learned that if it's destined to happen, it'll happen. If not . . . ~shrugs~ If I ignored my customers like this, I wouldn't be in business for long. Mitz |

Wow. Loved the video. Full of great information, and shows you the same car driven by two different folks can elicit a very different response. Makes me excited to drive the 370z, and almost glad I waited instead of jumping on before the 370z. Not interested in getting the 300, even though I loved that car. It rusted like crazy in Minnesota winters (I drove it year round), and it started having leaky fuel injectors at around 65,000 miles, and was annoying as hell, but would have cost too much money to fix. The leather seat also split. I want a new car. Again, thanks for the enlightening and very fun video. MitzMN |

Guess they are not really in the car selling business. Not sure I want to do business with someone that doesn't really care about having my business. Disappointed, not going up today, but not giving up. Mitz |
