People are hung up on needing AWD and 4WD cars here because of our winters, so you really don't see many RWD sport coupes around. Most G35's here are G35X models, and BMW's are almost all X-drives.
I've seen maybe 3 other 370Z's in the state, none of which looked modified at all. Odd because all of the Nissan dealers have them in stock, and they seem to move through their inventories at a decent rate. They must be purchased as garage queens for some of the semi-wealthy retirees in Park City and whatnot. The AWD thing is funny... I don't think any drivetrain configuration or differential combination could save Utah drivers from their own idiocy. |

But talking about crossovers and SUV's with AWD... absolutely worthless. Not a damn thing you can do to make a 6000 lb vehicle handle well, especially in the snow/ice. |

Nothing will save you from these Mormons who seem to believe that God somehow guides their car for them through the sheets of ice and banks of snow  |

I'm not saying these cars can't get expensive...they are just available for cheap mainstream access as well. My cousin has a fully loaded camero so I know they can be expensive as well but the base model is available for mainstream access for a lot of these american muscle cars. Around here, mustangs are just too common. I see one every road I am on...and each time the driver is a retired husband and wife. Now around my university, I see beast vehicles left and right...but that just comes with the territory. I see 30k+ cars all the time as well but most of those are mercedes, lexus, and bmw (essentially family sedans). Just the other day I saw a lambo. Third time in my lifetime seeing one. |
It's the same around here you see more mustangs, camaro's and challenger's than the Z.
To me the Z is still a well kept secret kinda under the radar. Plus the Z to me has always been a do i need it or want it type of car. It's a car for a select market +30 grand two seat sports car. |
:iagree:
I have seen two 370Z's in NW Houston since I bought mine in May. Tons of trucks, SUV's, and Mustangs (mainly pony Mustangs...fewer GT's). I am starting to see more base Camaros. There are tons of Chargers (aaargh).Dodge Ram trucks EVERYWHERE. Thats how they roll in H Town. Fine by me, the fewer 370Z's the better IMO.:tiphat: |
In the Uptown area of Dallas and on my drive to Plano I see a few of them everyday. When I go to other parts of the Metroplex I see them as well....We went to Oklahoma a few weeks ago and counted 5 going South on I75 at various points with 1 being a 40th.

well i went to the nissan dealer down the road last night and they have 7 sittin there on the lot, but I guess they just arent selling them. They have writing all over them for money off and how much you will pay if you buy it right now with top credit etc and nothing down. Very tempting for me but they didnt have the exact one id wana be in anyhow so im safe! lol besides, ive been eyein some of the used cars on the forums anyhow. Still, crazy to see so many on the lot! I guess they are trying to compete with 2 chevy dealerships that have prob 15 camaro's each on the lot trying to sucker the Navy guys in to buy em! lol

Saw 4 370s on the way in this morning. Bunch of Mustangs but mostly older than 2010. No 5.0s.
|
Saw a saleen mustang today. The engine had a great sound.

i hate not seeing any z in my local area

I live in Hawaii and just bought my 370z touring/sport. I upgraded from my '05 350z. I'm in love!
I would have to agree that the Camaros are all over the place (probably transformer fanatics :). I think there are 2 other 370zs that I've seen tooling around in my neighborhood, and that's it - which is fine w/me! |
Few "Z"s around!

There are a few 370Z's where I live. I do see a lot more mustangs, chargers, and camaro's, though.
I live near a military base in the south : / Lots of 'vettes, porsche, ///M, and AMG cars, too, with a good many NSX's thrown in for fun. Lots of turbo 350Z's though. We don't have any NA z's around here except the 370's. Even with the turbo, the 350's werent any faster than my stock LS1 car by any real margin. From what I saw from the 370 when I rode in and drove on, it is about like a cheap turbo install on a 350, stock. |
i've had my Z since Feb '09 - in Boston Area- I have only seen two maybe three 370's on the road in over a year- up north we just do not have any I guess
|
I get angry when I see too many, so I kinda like it the way it is. Although here in Los Angeles, I see more and more every week. 90% have been female. :)
|
In the time span of a year I have seen LITERALLY MAYBE 7 370z's. POSSIBLY. In fact I think it's closer to 5. Oh and that's not just my area I went to the Miami area in May and I saw one 370z.
I really like having the "exclusivity" of the 370z because there is maybe 2 more in my area and they're all stockers and not the same color as mine. It's nice having a car that isn't a part of the growing population of 42,012,381,405 mustangs. In all seriousness I see AT LEAST 20-30 mustangs on my normal commute. It's not scary it's pathetic. |
Spotted a total of 6 coupes in a city of over a million people. One in May of 09 and then not another until a year later. I saw two earlier this month and two in the past two days...So far, one red, one graphite, one yellow, one black and two white but still no other airstream (brilliant silver for those below the 49th). Plus I have noticed 2 roadsters - one black cherry and one white.
Compare that to the hundreds of late model mustangs, camaros and challengers that I see everyday tells me that there are not many 370Z's around here and that is fine by me. |
as long as nissan sells enough to stay happy with sales results i have no problem. but i only see 2 or 3 a week in an area with about 135,00 people.
there are two big nissan dealership here and they keep about 4 each on there lots. i guess most are kept in the garage. |
I didn't see any Zs today but I did see 3 new Camaros
|
I live in an area of 100k and I see two now and then. I have had several people come up to me and ask what kind of car is that? Most people have no idea it's a Nissan, it doesn't look like any other car on the road. I hope the 370 stays rare not like all the vettes, stangs and camaros I see every day it would drive me nuts to have a car everyone else has.
|
In over a year I have only seen 1 370 nismo and 1 370 on my way to work (23 miles each way). 350's are everywhere, but for whatever reason you never see 370's around here. Even though I live in a small city, the roads are absolutely packed during business hours, and tons of out of town beach traffic so don't start with the middle of nowhere comments lol.
