Glad you are happy man. To each his own my friend. The interior looks real nice and comfy.

I was driving Z's before I met my wife, had one while we dated and bought another once we got married. Keep both in the garage and her 4Runner sits on the driveway. She would kill me if I sold the 300Z. She did not like my '05 350Z but she really likes the 370. Commented the other day about how much better it was than the 350. And, she refuses to drive either, doesn't like manuals.:driving:

Dustin@Z1 08-12-2010 09:49 AM

Matt,
Congrats on the wedding!

I have this to say....and it has been said on many Z forums before now....

"You'll be back!" Once you own a Z, you'll get another before long, the Z is a way of life.

She has an SUV, sure. But personally, I couldn't imagine, even with only 1 kid (which we plan on having VERY soon) that anytime the 3 of us need to do anything, we need to use her SUV. She can't drive stick, so that means we'd never be able to switch cars. If she needed to go out of town and I needed to grocery shop with the kid in tow, etc., etc. Just didn't make sense to me. And as I've said, I've always wanted an avalanche. I'm sad about the Z but stoked about the truck at the same time!

You should of got an Infinitiy G37S. Thats what I would of done. :ughdance:

But I hear ya on the having extra room for cargo etc. That is why I still have my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 4X4 thats paid off. Sure helps having a SUV.

lando76 08-14-2010 08:32 PM

This post has me going postal to do the exact opposite. I have a truck and have been dying to get a Z. I have just seperated from my wife of 6 years (felt the need to be with another guy fucken slut) and dammit, im tired of doing the right thing. Sorry United States government, Im not giving back your 7500 first time home buyers credit ive been holding onto afterall. F it. how about I give them an IOU>

OP,

Something I learned while I was married for six years, is that I will never again in my life sell or get rid of something in order to try and make the wife/gf happy. I had sold guns & related items, a motorcycle, a TIG welder and so on thinking that it would help make the wife happier that I did so, and you know what? It made absolutely no difference in our relationship in the long run.

When a woman bends your arm or suggests that you get rid of your 'man toys', she's trying to establish some kind of dominance or control over your you. In a way she's castrating you a little bit at a time everytime you get rid of one of your man toys.

This was a family decision, though... not a "appease the wife" decision.

GTLAW 08-15-2010 03:52 PM

So wait you ended your 7 year relationship and got 09 370z NISMO!! Then you get back together with her and you sale you 370z. EPIC Fail!

You say that she already had SUV? so why drive two SUVS for one or 2 kids? Sounds like she made you sale your 370z and she was going to not get back with you..

Woman that do that kind of **** need to left alone.

I can see through all the BS just be real man, you got that truck because she made you!

Just be REAL!

m4a1mustang 08-15-2010 03:53 PM

Wow you guys are ridiculous. He's explained his situation very clearly and you are just selectively reading and jumping to ridiculous conclusions. :shakes head:

:iagree:

I don't think I can say it any more clearly, my wife wanted me to keep the Z and is upset that my ultimate decision was to trade it in.

I now have a vehicle that can handle everything I plan on throwing at it for the next 10 years, multiple kids and possible a move back up to the Northeast (NOVA).

I couldn't be happier!

I had a choice. Keep the Avalanche and the Z or continue contributing to my 401k. Hahah!

Congrats Matt, you seem like a smart, stand-up kind of guy. The fact is in the next few years a lot of the people here will sell their Z and move on to something else. I am lucky in that my wife doesn't give me isht about anything I own, and I have a Dodge Ram too! Best of luck and no need to bail on the forum.

terbo 08-16-2010 11:33 PM

Cool man, gotta put family first. Do you happen to have any goodies left over from the Z you'd want to sell? I saw something about a sound system...:D

So I'm coming home from work the other day, and there's a Solid Red 370z Nismo in front of me at the light going towards my house. I chuckled, wiped the tear from my eye (I miss it so), and kept driving home.

Turns out, the guy lives in my neighborhood. Seeing him whip around corners going through the neighborhood, and me trying to keep up in a 6000lb truck, was soooo bittersweet.

Just thought I'd share that. Karma has found a way to taunt my decision. Hahah!

When I sold my old Mustang GT for a Civic Sedan (fuel economy) in '06 a built Mustang flew by me as I was pulling out of the dealership. I was like, "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU."

mick 09-10-2010 10:26 AM

i am thinking the avalanche must be easier to park than the nismo. at least you don't have worry about parking too close to the parking stopper and scratch the front lip :)
