^^ agreed thats what i'd do.

Normally i'd say just have them tape up the engine bay and paint like that, but I work for the police department and we paint some plain cars to keep from being detected, and its like a punch to the gut every time i see the engine bay of those cars - so ugly.

look at monte carlo blue?

IMO, for the cost, it isn't worth it

I say get a "full vinyl car wrap".... half the cost, and you can change it anythime you like.

You get to maintain the factory color for when you sell it, and it will protect the factory paint.

So you can go with a solid color, or even with wild custom graphics, anything you like.

A lot of different things you can do with that. no doubt.

If it doesnt cover all the old paint it will, and they will wonder why it was painted thinking it may have been damaged and they will take $$$ off. I know they will measure the paint to see if its been painted too.

I had my Audi TT repainted the same color but just added some ice particles to make it sparkle in the sun and when I went to trade it in they asked about it, measured the paint and thought it had been damaged but not reported and wanted to low ball me on the trade in. So I left.

And guess who it was that was trying to low ball me? NISS

Well that's what I mean, if it's a shitty job, of course it's going to effect resale. But if it's a good paint job, it shouldn't effect trade in.

about 5-10 depending on where you go. I did a color change on my C6 after doing the widebody conversion and it cost me 8000. That included some extra stuff and 3 coats of clear, wetsand, 3 more coats of clear and wetsanding again, but also, the corvette was a very easy color change, since the subparts like inside the hatch area are unpainted. If you do do it, don't go cheap, or you will regret it.

Now if you had said blow and choke, that would have been awesome.

So if you can't pay the $8k you could paint most the car blue but leave it some kinda two tone (maybe rally stripes). This way you still color match the stills and engine bay.
