Calling the 370 "Z"; "Zed" seems very strange / unnatural to me. Why make it more complicated by putting the “ed” like Eddy at the end with it? The letter

Why make it more complicated by putting the “ed” like Eddy at the end with it? The letter “Z” in the alphabet seems most logical. “Z” is “Z”. If I went around calling a 370 "Z" a 370 "Zed" people would look at me like on crack cocaine.
