I too found it annoying and switched it off. It serves no purpose. I also programmed my alarm so as not to beep the horn when I locked the car.

I too found it annoying and switched it off. It serves no purpose. I also programmed my alarm so as not to beep the horn when I locked the car. I don't want to annoy others like they annoy me when I'm walking through a parking lot and all the soccer moms are beeping their minivan horns. Some of these features are just plain annoying.
