removing trunk spoiler

Funny thing though, . . . when the "official" pictures were released from Nissan, it showed (I guess) a base model with the Sport package wheels (Rays 19" inch wheels).

I thought it looked real nice without the rear spoiler.
Not so "fast and furious", a lot more mature sports car.

My thoughts . . . . .

For the Japan market, the Sport Package does NOT include the rear spoiler or front chin spoiler. The spoilers are available as separate options. (I know this because I have a Japanese brochure.) That's why most JDM pictures of Sport Package cars do not have the spoiler on them.

I happen to love the look with the spoiler, so I'm happy it's included with the Sport Package.

Yes, it would be possible. It will probably be attached to the body with a few bolts/screws under the plastic trim in the trunk lid.

If you remove it, having removed the trim without damaging it, you will then need to fill holes in the bodywork, smooth it down, treat it paint it, etc.

...So why not just just leave the spoiler in place? When you come to sell the car, most people will like it.

Most dealers won't do the swap because it will put them in an odd spot with the remaining car you swap to/from. granted, all they would have to do would be to add the front spoiler and then they have the 'aerodynamic package', but I think they know that the sports package is selling the spoilers more than anything else.

$400.00 or $500.00 for a piece of plastic, that probably cost them $40.00, no thanks. I don't like the way it makes the Z look, I think it looks better without it.

If it's anything like the 350z OEM spoiler, it will be held to the hatch by a few screws and strong tape. I replaced mine on the 350 and it was a b!tch to get off... the tape has a extremely good bond.
