370Z Cons?

So as I posted, I am considering (seriously) a 370Z touring auto w/sport and nav to replace my 1991 NSX auto.

From my test drive, I noticed the funny sound of the turn signal and the bottom hinged accelerator pedal. It had very linear acceleration, but so does the NSX. Nothing else seemed bad to me coming from the NSX, but my test drive in the roadster may have hidden some road noise (with aftermarket exhaust, the NSX is pretty loud at highway speeds as well).

What do longer term owners think are cons or felt the need to change?

Flimsy doors made of aluminum

I've had no issues, really, but I've only owned it since late April. Some folks mention issues with oil temps, road noise, and clutch in the manual. Take a quick search around. Most people are generally happy with their Z's.

:bowrofl:

LOL, but on a serious note, these aluminum doors should fare a lot better than my Evo's aluminum doors - they actually start to warp because of the door handle placement. These shouldn't ever have that problem.

fullmonty 07-11-2010 12:33 AM

Buy a Miata, the doors of the Z just can't compare

General Washington is angry that you would suggest his car has "cons."

Seriously. Those mirrors eliminate blind spots in the rear, but create them in the front :icon14:

The Z is a pretty awesome car -- the pro's far outweigh any minor cons -- you won't be disappointed.

Also, if you stick with an auto, the trans has lock up in each gear and lightning quick shifts meaning its as fast or faster than the 6MT on the road and makes about the same whp on the dyno.

If you choose an AT over the MT make sure you get a purse that matches your Z too. :stirthepot:

He does look angry in the pic!

History has proven that he's one man you DON'T want to tick off.

It's ok if that you don't have hand-eye-foot coordination to "drive" your car. We'll give you all the help you can get

I'm sorry, I can't hear you being so far in front of you.

Lemers 07-11-2010 11:51 AM

That's just the curviture of the earth. I'm actually in front of you

frost 07-11-2010 11:55 AM

Your argument is invalid, and calling Indiana Jones' satchel a purse would get your face whipped.

Balls on his chin. I thought he was outa here because our doors are too flimsy? He certainly can't seem to pull himself away.
