Pretty much what Jeffblue said.

Anyway, I laugh at those who think that the youngins who own good and fast cars are immediately labeled spoiled. Really? Ever stop for a min and think maybe they would pay their parents later?

All these college students owning 370Z do nothing to me. I know here in my uni, there are students who drive around Nissan GTRs and Lambos.
As long as the students don't regret their choice of cars and that his/her parents are happy that their kids are enjoying life while doing excellent in school then it is good.

For real, my car was directly tied to how I did in University. They want good grades, I liked the z. So it all worked out in the end.

The nicest friend I have gets a new porsche every 2 years or so, and he is seriously the nicest guy I have ever met. Goes to show you just because your parents buy you stuff does not mean a single thing.

It just means he is a nice guy that gets it all for free. If I had it all free Id be nice too. Can his parents adopt me?

hah I asked his dad the same question. A lot of people in here over estimate what a piece of metal can do for your life. Not to much, in the end its a car, and there is many things that are more important. He has been nice since we were in elementary school he just has a lot of cool toys now ahah

Just enjoy the dang car for what it is. Some have said its a nissan like its a dirty word.IMHO best car in its class for the money spent hands down.
No its not a corvette or bmw but i saved 20 grand.

ps if this had come up over on the 350 board the poor guy would be flamed bad.

I too, have experienced the pit toilet scene in Asia.
I was also given a car when I reached driving age. It was a used 1978 Dodge Diplomat.
I'm 40, so at the time, that wasn't all that bad of a free car. As soon as I had income, I replaced it with a Toyota FX-16 GT-S which caused me a lot of financial strain as I went away to college. About two years later, I fell behind and got it repo'ed. That was the beginning of being poor, in debt and with bad credit through my 20's.
I could tell the OP or other young Z owners that they're heading down this path, but I don't.

One thing I've noticed here on this forum, having migrated from a Mazdaspeed3 community, is that the broadcast age range of the forum members here is much older. By broadcast age, I mean the preachy, crotchety old fuddy-duddy-ism that seems to come out of responders of any age on threads like this or others where the OP is foolish enough to show a little youthful naivete.
Instead of criticizing the young, why don't we guide them and help them. I'm not talking about a good old fashioned "when I was your age" lecture either... because we all know how well that worked on us, right?
Eventually, we'll pass and the Z fan torch will have to be carried by the next generation. Let's set them up for success with helpful advice and positive reinforcement.
