If you really want to protect your paint - take it to a detailer who knows what he is doing and it will be fine. They will seal it up nice and well and the clear will be better than it was from factory. I get my car detailed 2 times a year - once in the middle of summer and once in the middle of winter. I don't bother cleaning bird crap off the car - I just hand wash her every week.
