It does help to read manual!!
Found this out by accident today when i was opening the rear hatch with the
rubber push button i noticed there was a second button to the left of it that opens the gasoline door. salesmen had told me only way to open it was to push on the door it self.I Should know better than listen to a car salesmen. Anymore interesting quirts you guys have discovered about the car? |

OK. I'm clueless. How'd you "open" the gas lid with the unlock button? Are you sure the gas door wasn't just close to opening and released when you hit the button?
I'm still looking for the button that will wash the car by itself. |
I didnt realize that the actual key slides out of the FOB until reading the manual. You keep the key part and give the FOB to a valet.
If you put the key in the door and hold to lock, it rolls the windows up. If you hold to unlock, it rolls them down. |

No i meant beside the rubber release button for the hatch there is a second release button that also will open the gas cap door. |

OPENING THE FUEL-FILLER DOOR
To open the fuel-filler door, unlock the fuel-filler door by using one of the following operations, then push the left side of the door. . Push the door handle request switch with the Intelligent Key carried with you. . Push the UNLOCK button on the Intelligent Key. . Insert the mechanical key into the door lock cylinder and turn it to the rear of the vehicle. . Push the power door lock switch to the UNLOCK position. To lock, close the fuel-filler door securely pg.117 on PDF |
Small round button above the rear license plate is to lock unlock your car. I use it all the time. It's very convenient if you're going to the trunk first and then inside the car or you're simply getting something out of your trunk. Since this button unlocks the car, your fuel door is unlocked during the process. I don't think it's there for fuel door.
Every time I go to a gas station, I turn the ignition off right away (in NJ here, full service). Or else I get the "why won't this guy open the gas door" look from the attendant. |

OP is saying that the button opens the fuel filler door. Different. |
Fuel door locks when the car doors lock. Any procedure that unlocks the doors will unlock the fuel door too.

Sorry guys guess I had a senior moment. I would have bet my last dollar
that gas cap door popped open when I hit that release button. |
Ok I knew I wasn't crazy. Just went outside pressed the unlock on my key fob and the gas cap cover released. Which it shouldn't do that I'll take it to the dealer

Your car must be haunted...ooooooo!!

Is there a manual trunk release somewhere inside the cockpit, or is the only way to open the trunk to be standing outside the vehicle? Either I'm an oblivious jackwad and missed it in my owner's manual, or I'm an oblivious jackwad for not looking for it when testing the vehicle before purchase. Seems like such a basic thing... To be able to pop the trunk for a passenger who has just exited the vehicle...
Am I missing something really obvious? |

There's no way that can be the battery life of my phone. My phone is full bars and the one on the car has maybe 1 bar.
|
Not sure about you guys, but the battery meter that is shown on my Nav screen does accurately show the battery life of my iPhone (although I believe its resolution is only 3 bars). Then there is the signal strength indicator which is also accurate for me.
|
I would believe that. I don't have the Nav. I'm not sure what is means. I've seen it at full strength once. I'll check it tonight after I fully charge my phone and see if it shows full strength.

...and if you push and hold the lock button long enough, the top will go down on the roadster. It's designed to let all of the hot air out of the car before you climb in. Very snazzy!

I suspect this has to do with the fact that the iPhone (along with any apple product) was designed to be skipped across a pond and never intended for human use. |

SECONDARY REAR HATCH RELEASE The secondary rear hatch release mechanism allows opening the rear hatch in the event of discharged battery or emergency. The release handle is located under the cargo room floor. To open the rear hatch from the passenger compartment, perform the following procedure. 1. Remove the cargo floor mat. 2. Find the rear hatch release handle *1 as shown in the illustration. 3. Free the release handle that is fixed with velcro. 4. Firmly pull the release handle until the rear hatch releases. |

Here's the answer to your question, OP.
If you pressed down the gas cap while the car was locked, it will remember that it was pushed down. If you then unlock the car, the gas cap will pop open. When you close your gas cap down next time, push it a bit softer and it should not pop open when you next unlock the car. The battery icon is actually for your phone, but it's terribly inaccurate. |
Is anyone familiar with the SCRL button in the 2009 z? The owners manual labels it as the "Scroll" button and then doesnt seem to mention anywhere in the manual. I'm trying to figure out what it actually does or what it's used for. I have the "FM-AM-SAT RADIO WITH COMPACT DISC (CD) CHANGER (models without navigation system)." I was hoping to configure the SAT radio to scroll the different displays (i.e channel name, artist etc..) without having to push the DISP button for each one.
