 thanks for the reinforcement. sounds good.

the replacement wheel (Weds rear wheel i curbed) and tire set me back 900+ this week :crying: so i need to wait a few weeks before i can get the rear CF wing tip (mines) and the D3000.

The D3000 will rock your world. I just have a measly D60, but it's already a fantastic camera. Night and day between that and point and shoots. Best part about these DSLR's... if I decide to upgrade some day, the lenses I am currently using will fit on any Nikon DSLR....

Have you looked into the D5000 kenchan??? Its a little more but its more bang per buck than the D3000. You get a better CMOS sensor, which helps at high iso levels. Same CMOS as the D90 I believe, which is good. Plus you can shoot video with it!

Ummm so does that mean I can take better picts in daylight? I don't usually have time at night to take picts or take my Z out so....

Better pics everywhere esp in low light. Im no professional photographer so its hard for me to explain but it will basically clearer, crisper photos. Reduces what they call "noise" as well which is when a pic looks pixelated or fuzzy. If you dont mind spending an extra $200 its def way more camera. Plus like I said it shoots hd video. Look into it.

Ken, probably worth stepping up to the 3100 at least. More recent version of the 3000

happytheman 05-25-2011 10:39 PM

Hmmm...D5000 - $599.....seems like a no-brainer to go the distance and get the D5000!

D5000:Nikon - 12.3-Megapixel D5000 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Black - D5000 with 18-55mm Lens

Saw paw prints all over the top of my car this morning. Realized that I hate cats and my car needs a wash
