Ag, is it possible yet to have a sort of ball park estimate that people can start legitimately checking their bank accounts for? Or are we still not far enough into development for that...

I know everyone's been throwing around the $500 hammer, but do you have anything more accurate right now?

My cost to use the machines for personal profit will be $100 per hour. The cycle time on the prototype was about 2 hrs. 15 min. (one emblem) That was a first attempt and I will be able to reduce cycle time slightly on the next go-round but I'm not foreseeing a huge time savings with out affecting the look of the final product.

After that I would need to cut in Kevin (Scruffydog) for surely if money is made he is deserving of some of it.

I would have to pay $700 per year to become a vendor on this Forum.

I can not even estimate the cost of reaching a licensing agreement with Nissan or what percentage they would want.

Then you got UPS and the tax man.

I imagine few will be willing to pay the price required to cover these costs. And I'm perfectly fine with that. There is no room for profit here and I never really intended for there to be.

I see the most likely scenario as this:

5 sets get made, One for me, One for Kevin.

AK gets 70 bucks for a one month vendorship.

3 sets hit ebay.

Then I start my next project. Solid sterling silver shift knob. :happydance:

Phalen- can't you make something out of bamboo from your Pier1 purchase? :D

while i agree with this, i think AG (and scruffy and whoever was involved in the milling file) should be compensated for their hard work in creating the file. I'm sure it took a lot of time, a lot of effort. Up to them really, but i feel they deserve something for their hard work.

Rep power is a direct reflection of post count, I believe.

Aside from the awesome work you're putting into this, it is sad that its not easier/more cost effective to make these because they are an awesome idea.

no, people have to click on the scales at the bottom left under your screen name to give you rep points. Not every click equals a point though.

From what I was told, rep power is how many times you've posted. It represents how much rep you can give when you click the scales.

On the other hand, the green dots represent how many rep points you've received. I could be wrong. *shrug*

Sibze 06-21-2010 09:41 PM

must be wrong... you have more posts I have more rep power you have more green

Edit: sorry I still have more posts but I have had 4 for a while now

FuszNissan 06-21-2010 09:51 PM

I have to admit, that is a nice hood ornament
