My roadster with touring and no nav is the same way. There isn't any way to shut the vents completely. This is fairly common any more. The Mazda Speed3 I traded in was the same way. Push the button to change it to recirculate. If it's in the fresh air position it allows outside air to be forced in as you drive even though the fan is off.
