Pretty much if you want to buy a Vette, you go to Kerbeck.

I'v seen those deals everywhere , do me a favor since I'm in texas. go there intending to buy it and see what the real price is. I'll garantee you you cant get a new vette for 42k anywhere no matter what options. Been there done that. The only thing that was a deal breaker for me was it has to be auto everything else was neg. nobody has them.

Yes, yes you can.

Go around to smokinvette or anywhere Kerbeck is mentioned -- you will see people getting insane deals. They make money via volume. They're huge.

You can find Vettes all day long at invoice or below and $42K is certainly doable if you go light on option packages.. Check the corvette forum for participating dealers. bought my '08 for invoice at MacMulkins in New Hampshire (great dealer). they are very different cars. I don't miss the Vette!

The C6 is a exceptional car for the price and it gets better each year. My 08 has much better steering feel and is much more confidence inspiring then my 07 was, overall the 08 is a much better car. The C6 is a excellent street and occasional track day car. I never had any issues with engine over heating or out running the brakes on track days. Lousy seats are my only real gripe with the C6. Road feel could be better also but it is hard to complain for the price of admission.

The Z seems to be high on the fun to value ratio also. I agree the C6 and 370Z are very different cars. Many cars are as fun to drive but in very different ways. Having owned both what do you like and dislike about each? How would you compare the steering feel and balance? Which would you say is more confidence inspiring? I only had a brief test drive recently in a base Z and it was good enough for me to consider one! I assume the C6 brakes are better then the non-sport pads of the Z from Car and Drivers experience? How is the over heating issue for the Z?

It would be great to hear back from someone who actually owns both.

Thanks!

Sure you can and you don't even have to leave your living room. Call EVS in WI and ask for Erik the owner. It's been a while but I bet he will sell you a C6 for very close to $42K. He will even deliver it to your door for a few bucks more if you want. He makes it super easy, as easy as ordering a pizza! I ordered 2 C6s this way. Great cars and great dealer!

My only problem with Vette's are all the old guys that drive them. People would think you were driving your dads car assuming you are under 35. I'd take a ZR1 in heartbeat though. That car is mean.

You will see older men drving them cuz they couldnt afford them when they were young or cuz of family. They sacrificed their nice car for practicallity and family till the kids were gone and then they got their car. Not everyone gets nice cars when they are younger and in todays generation you see more young kids driving cars that a generation ago couldnt afford at that same age for what ever reason. I think some 9not all) in here will see that when you have a family things change very quickly and you might have to wait till the kids on on their own before you can get the toys again.

I have the latest April Auto Issue of CR at home. I already know 'bout that. The great thing 'bout CR is that their feedback comes directly from vehicle owners, and not a biased opinion by a magazine staffer. Nuff said!

My C6 got better mileage than the Z. 27 on the highway and 20 around town. Thats about 1 better than the Z on both counts.
