Wow, you guys are young'uns if you had booster seats growing up! When I was a kid seatbelts (with or without shoulder straps) were still optional, and ceter lap belts were self-cinching. Mind you, toys with lead paint, McDonald's styrofoam containers and asbestos in building materials were also common place. Maybe that's why I turned out the way I did. LOL

I was agreeing with the fact that, when growing up, I rode in the front seat a lot, and my dad or mom would throw their hand out when braking heavily.

Although the "fastest" car we had when I was a tot was my dad's Toyota Carolla Sport. For those who care, that would be the American version of the AE86, which was pretty peppy.

If you're going to take your child on short journeys then I don't see what the problem is by putting your Maxicosi (or whatever you call it in America, child seat basically) on the front seat. I have an 8 month baby and I put her on the front seat for very short journeys (5km or so).

That said, I wouldn't go for long distances with a baby at the front - I'd rather use my wife's Focus which has 4 seats. So, in my mind, to conclude I wouldn't forget about your dream car (370z) just because of your baby issue - just make sure you have a familly car for the long driving. Lastly, don't forget your baby will grow up rapidly and you'll regret not getting your sports car later on.

This is AMERICA, child seats in the front are ILLEGAL, period. Short trips, long trips, doesn't matter. Baby in the front, you get fined or go to jail depending on situation. We have the strictest automotive safety laws in the world.

That might work if what you say fits his situation??? Or he may have to settle for a GT. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice your dreams temporarily for your children.

I wasn't aware it was illegal in the whole of the US, I thought it depended on which state you live in. So thanks for enlightening me on that matter :D.

But, if such is the case why would he even consider buying such a car? You would expect potential buyers to do some kind of research other than on forums (such as car reviews, car mags, etc.). Also I don't know many sports cars that have 2+2 seats.

Edit:

OK after reading his post better, OP said, "just wanna know if theres a provation for the childs car seat at the back of the z...", ok he didn't do his research properly... suprising.

2 previous posters are correct.

1.) The Z is a 2 seater. There is no "back".

2.) There is an anchoring point for a car seat to be placed in the front seat. While this is certainly not the ideal location for a baby (front seat of a sports car?), it's 100% possible, and legal, to have the car seat there.

I believe I've read a few people use their Z to transport their kid short distances. I know I will have to at some point.

:iagree:..when my daughter was a baby i had to transport her in my truck..no back seat...there's no difference here..

So if it is illegal...why is there child seat anchors in a 2 seat car?

Show me. Seriously, show me. How about doing your research next time before you spew a bunch of misinformation. In a vehicle that does not contain a back seat it is NOT illegal to place a child seat in the front.
