check engine light issues

Well just got my new Z, got about 500 miles on it and the check engine light came on.Took it in to the dealership they said gas cap was loose

Default check engine light issues

Well just got my new Z, got about 500 miles on it and the check engine light came on.Took it in to the dealership they said gas cap was loose and tightened
it down and cleared the code. Well by the time i got home damn thing comes on again what goes? Cheap __ss wouldn't give me a new cap! Anyone else have this problem?

All the time but its because I have a STANT "hinged flap style gas cap. Happens after any fillup when the temperature rises above 55 degrees.

That sucks. I have a Stant cap and have never had a problem.

yah, take it back to the dealer and have them remove the LED for the SES.

You might consider checking with Autozone and use their OBDII reader and see what code it is throwing. I think P4020 is the one that comes up for the gas cap. I had that and freaked out. After I re-attached the gas cap and turned five times I had to dive it three times before the CEL went off. That is of course just one possibility.

Yes go back and tell them to give you a new 1, it probably has slight seal leak. Had that issue on mine at 2,000 miles, they gave me a new gas cap problem solved.
