2010 monthly 370Z's sold
2010 -------------------- 2009
January-- - 673.......... 1,280 February--- 699.......... 1,452 March--- - 1,095 .........1,632 April ------ 952............1,561 |
Looks pretty good. I'm glad to see the numbers going up (close to 900-1000 mark/ month). I know Nissan USA said their target is about 10,000 unit/year. If we can meet that, that will be great!
Also, since the 370Z came out in 2009, we kinda have to ignore that years data. Any car that comes out with a new body style (model change), usually sells really well (look at first year Maxima sales (165%) and now the infiniti M (174%)) Good info Cliff! |
hmmm i still rarely see any on the road..maybe 1 or 2 a month.

I see about 1-2 a week now...

ya know, i'm not seeing enough new members to the site here that reflect the sales, 952 sales in April, there should be 952 new forum members, we need to get the word out!
|
Hey! I was one of those 673 in January! :driving:
|
I like the "exclusivity" of the 370, I see 350's all day. Almost a month of ownership and i've seen 2 black 370's on the road.
I did see like 5 new 2010 370Z's at the local carmax, so i guess i'll have some company:( |

By the end of this year, I promise you, it won't be so exclusive. So enjoy it while it lasts. One thing I notice though... a crapload of used Z's on the market. What's up? Is customer satifaction that low or what? What I don't see on the road I see in used car lots... crazy!
|
Perhaps I am the pessimist here. I see the economy as still pretty bad thus lower sales.
Amazin what happens when the taken-for-granted home eq line of credit gets taken away or exhausted. :) |
I like the exclusivity too!
But to put this into perspective, what does something like a more common car sell per month? Just trying to gauge these stats. |

Good economy. 20000 Zs. 100000 mustangs. 200000 altimas my point is ratio-and-proportions. :) on a different note, is the projected sales for this year worldwide or just USA? |

Altima has already sold 74,000 in 4 months. |

Where do you get these figures, dad? I've looked on Nissan's site and couldn't find them...I figured that would be the logical place to find them.
|
wow may picked up, economy on an upturn?

Remember that many dealer didn't have 2010 Zs until April, plus maybe the 40th Ann has help with those numbers too. Anyway "dad" you cannot compare an Altima with the sells of the Z. The Altima is the main selling vehicle for Nissan (family car) and it doesn't cost as much as the Z. As far as the Mustangs especially V6 they have been all over the place over the years. |

i expected to see more quantity for June but oh well. i only see a 370Z once a month or less in my area so it's great. :p
|
yeah i only see 2 or 3 a month as well...and thats counting mine..haha
|
yep, it's great that it's a 2 seater. bascially a useless car for most normal folks. the way it should be. :D

Car sales are going to get worse and stay that way. I do not think we appreciate how significant the credit boom of the 90's was in terms of making us all think we are much wealthier than we actually are, which led to rediculous and unsustainable spending habits. Many producers in our economy grew in the same bubble fashion to meet consumer demand, and we are now seeing a popping of that bubble. This bubble-bust cycle equates to jobs also, a lot of them high paying jobs - not least of which young real estate agents who made money like mad for a few years and spent it just as fast, thinking it would last forever. Overall, the economy will get a bit worse, then improve at more historical rates (averaged over 1945-2010), but even then we are unlikely to see the same consumer spending - s.a. new cars - that we got used to in the 90s. People are realizing they have to save money again, after the national per capita savings rate has been negative for years. Personally, I save 15% of my pre-tax income, and that's one of the reasons I could not afford a Z until I was 40 years old. It blows my mind to think 20 year olds are buying $40k cars....of course many of these purchases are subsidized by rich baby boomer parents, which was very common the 80s-2006 (my dad gave me $5k for my first car in 1994, and the Z is only my 3rd car!). The baby boomers, however, have recently found their wealth shrink drastically too, the money trees are all wilting. We'll see how it goes...hope for the best.

I'm glad I don't see many 370Z (maybe one or two) or 350Z in my town - I don't like to see myself coming :) Also explains why a particular model is hard to find new or used.
If you want exclusivity, get an older NSX - 8101 sold in the US total. The only time I see another one is when VIR is having an event or I go to a meet. |
