If only you knew the situation in Tulsa - police here don't care unless there's injuries...

Let's face it---it sucks...but its property damage! Cops need to worry about a lot more stuff than that! "Tire slashing" sure isn't on the top of their list of crimes to solve, but there is no point for the owner to "take matters into his own hands" and kick the crap out the guy. It will only lead to him geting an assault charge all for some low-life.

Yup, mature and best way to handle an issue like a tire slashing is to have a police report done (necessary if you want insurance to pay for the new tires) and then get the new tires and be done with it/ move on.

As you mentioned, SMcK23 the cops will put little energy / worry into the pursuit of some mere property damage. Damage like this happens lots and is not given any care/priority by police. Also as you mentioned, if you take matters into his own hands and kick the crap out the guy it will undoubtedly only lead to your getting an assault charge all for some low-life scum bag.. Not to mention, now he will have somebody come by and key your car, etc. As I mentioned in this thread earlier on, get the insurance $ and new tires and forget about it. Of course, if the vandalism on your property was to continue then pressure on the police to pursue the perpetrator would be in order.

Point is, assault on a vehicle isn't the same as assault on a person - on a person you will face a judge at the very least.

The police here won't do anyhting except in the case of injuries AND damn near impervious proof. They're too worried about the gangs on the north side, and truth be told, I'd rather they go after some gang-bangers on the north side, than to deal with a tire-slasher.

The police here will basically tell you "that's what insurance is for"
