Wow, relax people

I would like to welcome the new member to the forum. I am glad we don't have endless unsubstantiated street race stories that don't prove anything because there are way to many variables. I am not surprised you were able to hang with a Carrera 4 but there are way to many factors on the street to compare the two cars. For this reason I am glad not to hear these types of stories.

I was also not aware we had so many perfect people in this forum.

Relax people we only drive a Nissan that starts at the same price as a nicely equipped honda accord. I have tracked, AutoX, Drag Raced all of my vehicles but nothing beats the thrill of a 10 car midnight Malibu Canyon Run for those of us that do things once or twice in our life that is not perfect.

All valid points and I'm also surprised he couldn't beat a Carerra 4. However, there are rules in this forum that you agree to when you join. That said...

I doubt negative comments like the ones we see here are going to change the persons drving habits, but rather discourage him from being a part of our community altogether. Sure you can make the argument that we dont want those types of drivers in our community anywho, but maybe showing the guy how awesome track racing/autoX can be would be a more effective way to change the habit.

Voice of reason, out!

Agreed. Geez guys, we've all made mistakes. I agree he shouldn't-a-done it, I would not have, but give the guy a break. He needs to know that that kind of stuff is NOT cool, is very dangerous, and he needs to learn that allowing some idiot to goad you into a road race is, well just stupid.

Once he sees that we're not impressed, he will most likely thank us for removing that child like response from ever happening again.

Beating someone up for making a mistake never makes them better for it.

Just trying to make the OP realize the track is "a little safer", than the street! Plus there is less chance of involving innocent people!

Plus I-90 is one giant speed trap, the State Police will haul your *** in if they catch you at that speed racing another car.

So I will quote myself again.

There is also a Porsche event at the same location the day before incase you really want to compare (but the organizer is a bit of a d*ck). But we usually have a few Porsche's show up at our events as well, Cayman S, 911, GT3 RS are the regulars.
