I didn't have 370z and registered in Nov 09, j/k. :D

However, the MAIN PURPOSE of this thread is for fellow Z owners to go to Discussion Board in FaceBook and let them know about your issues, not only oil temp. ;)

THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL!!

It's a sports car not a track car, sheesh!

I don't think Nissan has done anything wrong regarding this.

+1

kinda like how they didn't give you a 5point harness and helment at the time of purchase. it'd be silly to have for public road driving.

Yeah...This is just a re-post of old news...

LinPark 04-26-2010 04:54 PM

Just calm down, once the cars start bursting into flames in August from extreme oil temperatures the US Government will get involved and we'll all get free oil coilers all covered under a 10 year warranty. Now that's all four wheels getting the oil whether they are squeaking or not! :)

PapoZalsa 04-26-2010 08:55 PM

Damn, you guys don't get the point. Yes that was the respond about the oil temp in FB by NNA and yes is a repost.

However, there are other things that might or already went wrong that your local dealership is giving you the run around. So posting it in the discussion board in FB and with the email address I provided should get your issue some attention by Nissan North America.

I don't have a problem paying for an oil cooler. And I believe I need one -- I've never gone into limp mode, but have seen 260 degrees in spirited freeway driving and 90 degree heat.

My problem is that this is my daily driver. On the one or two days a year when it gets really cold here, is an oil cooler going to keep my oil so cool that it doesn't lubricate properly and causes engine damage...which Nissan states it will not cover.

Old Chuck 04-27-2010 02:32 PM

I believe many of the coolers have thermostats which will open and close with oil temps just as the one for your water cooling system. Modshack among others has spoke to this point..

Old Chuck 04-27-2010 02:49 PM

Forgot

Also, I don't think the temps are low enough where you live to keep a good oil from flowing well enough to do its' job.

Pharmacist 04-27-2010 09:16 PM

why not make the oil cooler part of the sport package? isn't the sport package supposedly for the track?

Smallywood 04-28-2010 04:49 AM

It's a good thing that they didn't decide to include that Nismo oil cooler in the sport package, because I would have had to buy a Ford Mustang with pony stickers on the sides to keep my payments in line...

Hear! Hear! :iagree:
