To wave or not to wave....
 

In the two weeks that I have had my Z, I have not seen another 370. I have however seen many 350's and even a 280zx. Every time I give a little wave. Not once has it been reciprocated. You could argue that maybe they didn't see me but some were looking directly at me.

I remember, as a kid, when driving with my father in his 1970 240z, every other z we passed would wave. (That's my dad racing his 240z back in 1975 in my avatar)

So if you happen to be driving around Indianapolis and you see someone in a Monterey Blue 370Z give you a wave, throw one back. :hello:

I wave at all Z's. It's the way of the Z enthusiast, especially if they appreciate the history of the car.

i've found that alot of 350 owners are haters, they usually dont wave back.

Them not waving back is their problem not yours - wave on bro! Most of the 350's I pass in my 280 don't even know what they are looking at - heck, my 280 is older than most of them - I'm talking the driver not the car. :icon17:

It's a mixed bag. If I notice them noticing me...then I'll wave.

I always give a wave or a nod to a 350 roadster. Today was actually the first time I saw another 370. It was a coupe, but I still felt a strange connection. :hello:

I always wave too, but there are so few Zs in hk. Esp 370s. A chick blew me a kiss once and it was all worth it Lol.

I never once thought to wave to another 350 or 370z only because I keep to myself when driving. I only look around to make sure nobody decides to side swipe me. That being said there's another yellow 370z Sport and a MB 370z Sport I see hanging around the Coral Springs, Fl area. I wonder if they are members here sometimes.

i typically only wave back when they car is not stock. got tired at waving at every Z i saw and would get a stare, around here any Z enthusiast will have some sort of small mod so it's relatively easy to identify with the trained eye.

OP, Nobody waves back at me either..

When I had my STi, everybody with a Subaru waved at each other. I got people in Forresters, WRX's, Legacy's either waving, throwing the peace sign, or flashing their lights at me when I first got the car. I thought it was weird at first waving at other Subie owners, but then after a while it was second nature. I just waved back, flick my high beams ect. It was pretty cool.

When I got my 335i, I tried waving at a couple other Bimmer owners, another 335i and an M3, they both kinda just stared and then dogged me out. :(

I haven't seen many other 370Z owners around here, only 2 but they were parked, but I have had a couple 350Z owners rev at me and try to instigate a street race. :rolleyes:

It seems the 350Z owners are very aggressive, they seem kinda pissy all the time, on the forums and out in real life.

aggressive, no, immature, yes. They can be had for 10k or less for an 03', so Travis the senior douche on the high school water polo team can afford one with his bus boy job at cheddars.

i never seen the 370 driving next to me so never had chance to wave... but, 370z does get a lot of attention from others. I feel like getting a tint for my z.

Most 350 owners seem to not care at all about the 370 or give it nasty looks. Though i have had some great conversations with more aged owners than young ones. The older guys seem to be enthusiasts than the young owners who are all upset that their car isn't the coolest on the road anymore.

I wave at all 370/350 Z's when I see them.. I noticed when I first got my car other ppl where waving at me. Whats the worst that could happen get a middle finger thrown back at me? :eek:

I cross mcnab every single day from the sawgrass to I-95. Ive seen the MB and a red convertible, and another silver but never the yellow.


Anyways... I do the flashy light thing.... waving is too 20th century for me.

Back when i had a mini... the waving was strong.... until a lot of people started buying the cars and it died out quick... with the Z i have noticed, that... the 350 dudes don't care... the 300 guys do wave back...the 370 guys it really depends... usually if the dude is over 45+ of age he does not wave... or does a courtesy flashy lights.... if he is under they wave first.

For a moment, I thought I went to the motorcycle forum I rarely frequent...

I have found that about half the 350z's wave back while some have the jealous vibe and just do the look straight ahead because I know my car is cool but damn I wish I had a 370z stare. LMFAO!!! poor guys

I was waving at most Z cars since I got the 370Z. Not many waves back at all so I only wave at 370Z's now.

When I had the STi I got Subaru waves every day.

I wave at all the Z's except the 350's, most of those guys don't seem to give a ****. Although I've had a couple who have waved, and of course I return it.

Bitter and pissed that they're still driving yesterdays news. Ha, some guy came to one of our Z club meets a few weeks back, was driving an 08', I asked him why he didnt wait for the 09' 370, tells me they werent out when he bought it, and that its ok, he doesnt like the look of the 370 anyways, bullshyt, hes f'in pissed that he bought the last model year of the 350 and is stuck making payments for the next 5 years on it. So basically I told him that hes full of chit, all the other 350 owners told him the same thing, most of them lust after my car, I love it.

1. I haven't seen other 370z yet, so haven't waved at them.

2. I've seen a lot of 350z, the older folks waved at me, so i waved back. but the younger dudes just stared at my 370z, so i never waved at them. I figured they wouldn't see me wave to them anyway because in their head, they're thinking it's time to trade in their 350 for a 370.

i get a lot of waves from other non-Z drivers, so i'm thinking of tinting my car.

Over the past few years I've seen like two 350z and no 370z. If I saw another Z I would definitely wave though.

350 owners think they're badass... when i first got my car i would try to wave but they would always look straight, and also most drivers were older men. so they dont like it when young guys drive sumtin newer then what they got... im guessing??? anyways :tiphat:

I love my z, but there are some 350 guys 300 etc that really don't care for the 370 seriously but have respect for it. A college frat of mine waited till the 370 came out, went and seen it didn't like it. Ended up buying an 08 350 that he loves..... I do the wave every now and then myself.

I gotta agree, the 370 isn't for everybody, but I also have to admit some of the 350 guys are either hatin or in denial. I didn't like the 370 at first myself so I can somewhat relate.

heres the question, what exactly does the 350 have that the 370 doesnt do better? gone are those ridiculous looking white reflectors on the back bumper, the long ass end, the retarded stabilizer bar that sits so damn close to your seat that you cant lean back, the trunk that can barely fit a motorcycle helmet, the fugly grill, the list goes on gentlemen. Oh and I forgot, 30 more horsepower... 100-150 lbs lighter... shorter wheelbase... wider stance... lower to the ground... SRM... am I forgetting something? C'mon fellas, people that own 350's that refuse to respect the 370 are in denial, and THAT is a fact.

had the choice to buy either or? and the 350 cost the same? do me a favor and tell that guy how much of an idiot he is for me.

id wave to another 370z, but not sure to any other z's unless it was a classic 240z or something. why? cause i just dont feel the connection between 350z's. 350z's are so ordinary and ordinary non-enthusiast folks drive them all the time. like waving to a civic or something...too many out there.
