How Many Years Before Remodeled Z

I really know this is jumping the gun big time, but when or about how many years before you think a new model or style Z comes out? I believe the 350 made a six year run?

I ask do to I really like to plan ahead and want to be ahead on the next one. This is the model I really plan to go all out. Not so much on this model. Can be plenty happy in stock form this time around. But actully already started to save (plan to pay cash for everything). And my wife knows beyond a doubt we will not touch those funds (lol)?

I also hope they stay with the V6? Just a discussion. I couldn't see them going bigger.

No one even knows if the Z will exist beyond the 370... so yeah, it's way too early to speculate.

Why not hold out for the 75th Anniversary Edition?

For a bodystyle? About 5 years seems to be average. Though the Z hasn't proven to be profitable recently

You know, this is a honest question and discussion. Hopes for the future like buying a new home someday and planing for that. Like retirement. But some of you guys can't hold back from the smart remarks. Everything is a joke, always.

You lost me. I wouldn't hold my breath for a Z after the 370

nogoodname 04-12-2010 09:12 PM

This thread is redunkulous...lol... the Z just came out like a year ago....

Hopefully the economy takes a upturn worldwide. That would greatly benefit the Z which has become more limited than previous years.
I also wonder how the new CAFE laws in the U.S will effect it? All this talk of 30-45 mpg does'nt bode well for sports cars.

areyouin729 04-12-2010 09:32 PM

I will be depressed if they kill the Z...either way I can see myself hanging onto my 370Z

I see these becoming like the 2nd gen 300ZX which was pretty rare and a nice sight to see even in 2010

I always say I'm going to hang on to my current car, but something bigger and better always comes along. Whether the Z continues or doesn't, the 370 is an awesome car, so enjoy it while you have it.

PapoZalsa 04-12-2010 09:49 PM

I will always have either a Z (cureent 370Z or previous models), RX-7, Supra, Toyota Corolla AE86 or any old school car.

6MT 04-12-2010 09:53 PM

My guess is 7 years before the next redesign. (That is, if the Z is still around.)

jtown82 04-12-2010 11:25 PM

i hope they kill the Z and we are the last ones to own them :P lol call me greedy i dont care!. and yea if you look at there sales. nissan nor infiniti is profiting from these cars much. this is a niche market.

k20z3 04-13-2010 12:20 AM

Hope to god they're not like Toyota with the
Cut of the; MR2 Celica Supra, Celica Supra, Alltrac yadda yadda...

nuTinmuch 04-13-2010 12:38 AM

Fairly certain the Z will stay around as while it is a niche market car the G37 sells well which is pretty much the same platform.

I'm gonna be honest, a part of me wants it to end at the 370Z. Coming from a 350Z, the exclusivity of the car now is really nice. I've seriously only seen like 5 other ones in SD since I got mine (not including the unsold ones at the dealerships).

tvfreakazoid 04-14-2010 02:25 AM

Isn't that for "regular passenger cars", "light trucks" and not for sport(y)?

I wish I was seeing more positivity towards the continuing of the Z. I know where you guys are coming from with points being made far as market sales and such. I hate to see this car die with the history and all. I'm truley a die hard import guy and at the time there's nothing else to me out there worth a flip. Such as style and performance.

ehhh idk man. the Z32 looks exotic from certain angles. the Z34 just doesn't have that. it looks super sporty with the wide fenders and all but it just wont be a classic like our Z32's.

I'd disagree it looks about extoic as 97 Mustang. Not to say the 370 looks exotic.

There's a damn good chance that if there is a next one it won't be v6... gas prices in 6 years timne will probably be 100-200% more expensive and governments will probably put a price on carbon and make it even more expensive...

If you want an awesome 6 cylinder rwd car do it sooner rather than later... cars like these are on the way out... you'll start getting strange hybrids, diesels and electrics...

Didn't say the Mustang Looked anything like a 300Z, just said that it didn't look exotic. Perhaps in the 90s it did, however to my eye in 2010 it does not. Thats not to say it isn't a nice car, cause they are nice cars.

Though notice a resemblance between a Fiero and a 300? I don't think anyone would call a Fiero an exotic.

SmoothZ 04-15-2010 07:39 AM

The Z32 rules! :D I still think the lines on it are timeless.

areyouin729 04-15-2010 08:00 AM

I love the Z32 and it's looks could hold up today with a little remodel but I don't think it looks exotic...it was a trendsetter for good looking sport cars in the 90's

I hope if Nissan does the next Z, they base it off the Z32 in the looks dept.

FuszNissan 04-15-2010 09:25 AM

I think the Supra and RX7FD lines are timeless, I don't think the 300's are. But it's all personal opinion. I hope they don't base the next gen Z off Z32 looks.

I completly agree

Mergnthwirker 04-15-2010 04:08 PM

My feeling is that we're looking at the end of an era. Gas prices are likely to head up massively as the economy recovers. New CAFE regulations are likely to put a nail in the coffin for cars like the 370Z. Increasingly the Green Mafia will demonize those of us who drive sports cars (how IRRESPONSIBLE!!). Look at what happened when the Sierra Club started targeting Hummer?

Future sports cars are likely to be hybrids (see the Porsche 918 concept for example). The performance may be same/better, but the days of a rip-rorting gasoline engine making only 21mpg EPA are numbered.

Enjoy it while you can!

The Sierra Club makes me want to cut down trees and pour oil in rivers.

That's probably on it's way. But if we could have a car half the spec of this porsche would be nice for the future. Just have to get someone to learn to modify these cars. I really like everything about it. It's definitly the future. I've included a link for those who've haven't read up on this.

tvfreakazoid 04-17-2010 06:21 AM

They should give it more power boost by 2011. I mean the mustang got one really quick. Their new 5.0 engine seems really good. It went from 315 to 412hp. Come on nissan, how about a little more juice.

tvfreakazoid 04-17-2010 06:25 AM

It seems nissan made the Z look similar to the pontiac and lotus! Or is it the other way around?
