I know! But can anyone who has a Z actually go the first 1200 miles driving like an old lady? I'm really hoping that the "break in period" is an urban myth!

I did speak with Vinny! Getting the toys put in this Saturday. Damn these boards...if it wasn't for all these nicely modded Z's I would have been just as happy keeping the car stock! :icon17:

People on Long Island need to stop buying 370s!!!!

lol jk.. im in port jeff station and I can not tell you how many 370s I have seen on the road lately... its getting crazy... I have seen more in this last week than I have in the last 6 months of me owning my 370...

Do you go on Jayne Blvd ? I think I prob saw you on that rd, i flashed and waived at a PG roadster last weekend...

chuckd05 04-10-2010 04:38 PM

also try shifting earlier around 5500, if you have sport package you should chirp and prob kick the rear out a bit...

Just shift faster, and be quicker wit you feet!

Idunno about you guys but I can chirp consistently going into 2nd with VDC on... It really surprised me when it happened while i was test driving a 370z for the first time.

I must suck at spirited driving.

There's a lot of factors that contribute to tire spin, such as tire pressure, tire temperature, ambient temp, road temp, road composition, tire composition, etc...You may have just got lucky and encountered "perfect" driving conditions :-P

Turning VDC off got me to chirp 2nd. Adding an intake and exhaust lets me chirp 3rd now.

Yesterday, I chirped the tires going into 2nd with the VDC on. I don't even want to know what it would be like with it turned off...lol

Imitation is the highest form of flattery. But ya still sucks

I took my car to the track a month ago for the first time....I burnt up both first and second...I actually had to get off the throttle and then back on just so the tires would hook up. In my experience you need to be easy with the clutch to make sure the car hooks up properly.

Ya I can also chirp from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd with vdc on.

m4a1mustang 04-12-2010 02:15 PM

1-2 is not a "chirp." It's a sustained spin... you can really roast the tires on a hard 1-2 shift with this car, especially if it's cool out.

Also -- one big thing that really seems to get morons in trouble with this car is shifting hard while accelerating through a corner. I guess most people don't realize what happens in a turn when you suddenly lose rear traction. :)

Can't get the tyres to chirp huh? I say get a Parrot and train to "chirp" just as you're changing into second, may take a while though so i suggesat you make the chirping sound just as you are going to change into second and the bird in time should follow your lead.

The VDC has split personality.......
I chirped 2nd gear pretty hard with VDC on yesterday.
