1-2 is not a "chirp." It's a sustained spin... you can really roast the tires on a hard 1-2 shift with this car, especially if it's cool out.

Also -- one big thing that really seems to get morons in trouble with this car is shifting hard while accelerating through a corner. I guess most people don't realize what happens in a turn when you suddenly lose rear traction. :)

Can't get the tyres to chirp huh? I say get a Parrot and train to "chirp" just as you're changing into second, may take a while though so i suggesat you make the chirping sound just as you are going to change into second and the bird in time should follow your lead.

I chirped 2nd gear pretty hard with VDC on yesterday.

I used to be able to chirp the tires going from 1st to 2nd on my 350, but I can't do it with the 370. Am I the only one?

I'm starting to think that maybe because I've been ignoring the normal break in guidelines, that the engine's performance might be suffering. That would suck. :shakes head:

you are aware there is no R2 gear?

Gauge 05-01-2013 01:24 PM

I don't know, I have VDC on and I don't have a problem chirping.

The Matrix.

That's really all that needs to be said. Immortalized.

Practice on GT-5, then do it in real life.:driving:

srbrubak 05-01-2013 06:38 PM

I chirp mine all the time going into 2nd, and that's with the VDC on.

Yea, admittedly I'm not a great sports car driver but this is easy IMO. Redline, shift, floor it, chirp. Not hard :/

zeeder 05-01-2013 07:41 PM

I can't chirp the tires in any gear because I'm still under 1200 miles! :shakes head:

zefaulter 05-01-2013 08:31 PM

Chirping is easy, i even do it on my ford focus, lol... Nothing to boast about or be proud of, just fun
A while ago i wanted to try the "rev to 3500, drop the clutch". Didn't work out so well... Loud bang and gear popped out of first. Never gonna do this again, ****.
Any ideas what may have happened?

Really? Hmmm... Last time I did "rev to 3K, drop the clutch" in an empty parking lot. The end result is a big smile on my face.:)

You didn't do your maintenance right. Your tires need to be lubricated too just like other parts.:rofl2:

Really? bumped a 3 year old thread for this? :shakes head:

To the OP, turn off VDC and you should be able to chirp your tires. You want your tires to have GRIP in all forms of motorsports, not lose traction or chirp tires. Or if you're trying to impress people on the street or your HS friends, chirp away. :driving:
