Also just on a footnote if we SC our 370z, which is another 8k give or take, then our 370z price just went to 40k+, depending on the package you bought it at, and you're putting down about the same power levels for the 32k Mustang. Also you won't have all the overheating issues more than likely and probably not the brake lockup issues. Hmmm..

Looks like with all the defectors over to the mustang the 370z will be more exclusive

I owned a (new) ’95 Mustang and it had zero problems…..loved that car! The new 5.0 stang is a gorgeous car and 0 to 60 in 4.5 and 13.0 in the ¼ miles are great stock numbers! My ONLY complaint is the non independent rear axle. Yes it is faster than the stock Z, but it’s a four seater….if you want a four seater, it’s the best bang for the buck for 2011, Hands down!! And like AK stated….everyone and their mother is going to be driving one!! Has anyone else noticed how ford stock has more than quadrupled in the past year…..Ford is a great American car company.

Yea.. but all those magazine benchmark racers in HS(at least in my area) have parent's who buy them any car they want. So I'm sure they'll still be getting the mustangs. And besides my 370z it's a rare day I see any other in my area.

I live in the Z capital... Been seeing 5-6 370s a day lately.
And around these parts 350s are just as popular as Mustangs. Though the Porsche 911 and BMW 3 series are by far the most popular rides in Northern VA. :D |
pure numbers is 1 thing that makes a car...
IMO the styling and handling of the 370 outweighs the performance gain of the mustang....I personally think the stang is pretty ugly.... Also, it sounds like every man and his dog in the US has a stang? Probably like how here in Aus everyone drives Ford Falcons and Holden Commadores... I could have bought a FPV GT for a slightly better 0-100kph time but I refuse to because they are so common and don't feel as special. As others have noted before, the 370 is a little more exclusive (well in my area it is). |

Without too many costly options its a great preformance bargin the engine and drivetrain will be great, but the interior and even exterior styling will never be up to Z standards, as well as handling and build quaility. I've owned 4 firebirds and 1 camaro, I respect the mustang but I'm on a new path now. Just give me a detuned GTR powerplant or a 5.6 liter V8 out of the Titain and the mustang will just fade away.......

The old phrase a dime a dozen comes to mind - I can't drive 2 miles down here in Florida without seeing a Mustang and DeSoto Speedway seems to have a Mustang only event at least once a month so all the Mustang owners take over the roads. Make mine a Z and I'll always be happy watching folks strain their necks to see what I'm driving.
To each his own though, so enjoy! |

I think this is crazy enough to be the actual answer to how our car stays exclusive after they've been sold to high school kids. Rep+ |
