I was thinking the same thing as I was reading through this thread, this thread is old and what brought it back to life............oh well.

Yes this forum continues to amaze me (keeps me coming back!) and its pretty obvious if the magnet seperates from the bolt its going to stick to the bottom of the oil pan.

Not magnetic, but in case someone gets tired of having to pull a bolt out and put it back in.

If I put more miles on my car than I do (and still changed my own oil heehee), I'd get one of those. Looks like it would be very handy for anyone who changes oil frequently.

I've seen natural gas petcocks used on older cars but don't know how well they would work with the low viscosity oil we use nowadays.

On a related note, my magnetic plug broke today.
Not sure how it happened, but I noticed a hairline crack at the base of the magnet, upon further inspection I found that it was broken.

half the fun is trying to get drain plug out quick enough before it runs down ur arm..i have dedicated clothes i wear because oil always shows up somewhere on your shirt:rofl2:
