Sometimes I miss the rush and the sound from the turbo of my old Silvia S15

I can only compare my 370 with the 350 I had. Other than that technology has changed a lot.

I miss that car so much. I still have the window sticker from when I bought it. Every now and then I think about running a Carfax on the VIN to see where it is or what happened to it, but I don't. I just like to think it's living the good life somewhere bringing joy to some worthy new owner's life! :tiphat: |
When I bought my 370 I immediately had flashbacks of when I had my 1990 300ZX. The thought that came to mind was "welcome back". I needed to sell the 300ZX in 2003 for practicality reasons as it was my daily driver and I needed the extra room in an SUV. I was close to getting a 350Z a few years ago but held off. Glad I did and now I'm back!

There's just something about being in a car that you really connect with. There are just some cars that really give you that "perfect fit" feeling. The Z and my old Mustang are definitely two of those cars.
For some people it might be a Mini that does it for them, or a Corvette, or anything else... whatever it is, that's one of those priceless feelings that makes everything, at least while you're driving the car, right. |

I know what you mean man. It took me a while to warm up to the 370. I really loved my 350, and even though I missed it, it wasn't like I regreted my purchase. I guess only a few people can relate to this. Give it some time.

I do have to admit I miss the smell of diesel exhaust on a cold morning, and the sound of the clatter during high idle.

I compare to the other vehicles I drive now. I commute in my girlfriends chevy HHR and I drive an 03 F150 for weekend projects. The one comparison that makes me nuts is the windshield wiper control; its different on all 3 vehicles. On the HHR, you push it up to turn on. Z pushes down. F150 is on the left side rather than the right. The other comparison that mucks me up is reaching for the key to turn the Z off instead of the push button. My step son sees me do it every time he's in the Z with me and never lets it slip by without laughing at me.

I kept my 911 and I do miss the handling and the feeling of being connected to the road 'and' the car --- my smile is ear-to-ear whenever I get the chance to drive my ex-old-faithful.
Still, my Z is my daily driver and I like it too. Bottom line.....each car has its pluses and minuses. |
my past 2 cars were 300ZX and 350Z so it only got better

I DO miss my old car sometimes.. but 370z is much more fun to drive than my old 07 A4 3.2L.. like zSteve, i was anxious to get 370z after seeing a black one on the road I ended up trading it in. (I should've kept it for the winter! LOL)
Aside for tight interior, 4seats and quattro, 370z is far more superior in its performance, and the fun factor. http://www.the370z.com/members/since...2399-my-ex.jpg:yum: |
