I did the motoman breaking in method on my bike but I'm somewhat skeptical to do it on my car.

I listened to the owners manual on my G37.... doubt il be following it on the Z... I really dont think it makes much of a difference.. If anything drive it like you stole it off the lot..

I am not sure if this is such a good idea since you're not only breaking in the motor, but the transmission, brakes, and all of the other fluid pumping components the car is equipped with. Has ANYONE ever done this aside from what was seen on online articles?

I know a guy that did it on his TL. It's been running fine for the past 2 years from what I know.

I personally won't be doing it though. I'll be following the Nissan recommendation once my Z comes in.

Ah! Thanks.

I predict you will now get 1.8 MPG and have to add oil after every 500 miles, sorry. :(

..Of course I also predicted that George W. Bush would be elected to a third term so take that with a grain of salt. :D

Dido, got through my 1200 miles (well, more like 1175, I couldn't take it anymore) yesterday. I wouldn't even consider not breaking the car in, but hey, let everyone do what they want....it's a free country.
