For me though, it was a combination of finding the Z sexier and more rare. Also, it was the one car in my price range that made me feel like I wasn't compromising.

Apparently they pay us Army folk alot better nowadays:tup:

When you add up base pay with either BAH or free on post housing and free Heath care and BAS or meal card. Then yes a signle Soldier does have enough expendable cash to bay a Z. Do I think that junior Soldiers make enough when you really get into eveything they are required to do and the level they are required to achieve and the conditions they are required to live in than no. Give the junior Soldiers a raise!

Agreed, yeah, single E6 here with full BAH, 8 years TIS, i afford it quite comfortably :)

Well I have to concede nobody has ever shot at me while working. Call me a pansy but I'm okay with my career choices if it means I had to wait an extra 15 years to get my Z. Respect for you guys and girls though.

At 55 I simply laugh at this thread. Where did they get the money at 25? From a bank loan officer?

This car was made for guys like me. I own it, not the bank. :driving:

Yeah, I'm looking at getting my Z by just after I turn 21, and I'll be putting somewhere around $25 grand down-the bank might still "own" the car, but they by no means have me by the short hairs on payments.

I know everyone likes to say they paid cash for there car and the bak don't owen my car. But you need to make sure that is the right decision. I paid cash for the G37S and it was a good decisin. However the FX50S i financaed the whole lot . now let me tell you why. I have the money to buy it but infiniti was offering 0.9% well my money is making 3.5% in a low risk investment. So why use my money when i can use theirs and make money off of it still. Just make sure to do the math. sometimes it is better to have the bank owen it.

I tell you man, you are so right, why do you think the celebs and pro sports players dont buy those mansions and cars they live in? Cuz their money is better used in others areas. Money makes money,so if you use it all to buy things outright you might not have any to make money. Now I just need more money so I can make more money.

The choice between financing and paying cash has created debate in many threads. I think it's great if someone is in the position to buy a car like the Z outright. It means you've made some pretty good decisions to put yourself into that position.

But, like Shumby said, my money makes a lot more interest than what I pay the bank, in some cases 10x the return, so why should I cash in some of my investments just to hold the title in my hand?

As I say in every G37 thread, I absolutely love the G37S. Every day I wonder if I got the right car. Hearing my Berk exhaust on the 370Z certainly puts that curiosity to rest, however!

You really can't go wrong with either car.

Yes sir! I had an older guy, older than me which is really an older guy, at a convience store say that the engine and exhaust note on my car was awesome. This guy was about 50+ which proves even with age we still love a mean sounding car note.

You may be retired, but I still don't think of you as an old guy yet!
