Configured MSRP* $44,585.00 I paid 40k after taxes. with 44.6k, i'd be paying 48212, which is 8k more. sorry, I am a little wrong but not 3-4k bucks wrong. |
THe G is definitely more expensive than the Z but it is a little more refined and has two back seats. If I didnt need the back seats I'd go for the cheaper and faster Z though....

I happen to prefer the G35 styling to the G37 as well. IMO the G37 lost a bit of the sporty look from its predecessor. Still a great looking car though.
|
I didn't like the lights and grills of the 350 or G35. So I think Nisaan made an improvement on both.
|
Simple solution:
Get both. Win win :roflpuke2: |

need only 2 seats, get the Z..... simple :) |

In my opinion:
The 370 is a sports car. The G37s is a sporty car. As a daily commuter, especially in the snow belt, the G37 is the "smart buy". But if I was starting from a place of practicality, I'd be looking at a Accord Coupe. |
I tend to classify performance cars in these categories.
Sporty car vs. Sports Car vs. Race car |
Both cars a head turners for me. Love to see them drive by.
I love to drive mine, but I never get to see the gorgeous exterior in motion... |

Last year I saw 2 brand new Silver fully loaded 2008 G37S that's been sitting at the dealership for almost a year old (b/c of the economy crisis) for $35K (before tax), I woulda paid less for it than my fully loaded 370z and prolly woulda gave me more of a Status symbol than what I get with a "Nissan" brand. But in the end, I knew I'd be lying to myself to what I actually like if I ended up with a G37S. Btw, I may offend a lot of people for saying this, but I think the G37S is a nice car because of the package it comes in for such a price, but when it comes to exterior looks, the 370z wins hands down. |
Well, you are in a 370z forum, so I doubt you'll offend like-minded people.
They're gorgeous cars for distinctly different audiences with different tastes. My GF doesn't like the 370z at all but likes my G. |
if the 370z came out a bit sooner, I woulda definitely picked it 2 years ago cause IMO a 19 year old fits better in a Z than a G37..for me it was either a 40k Nismo 350z vs. a 40k G37...I went with the G

the z is just way f-ing cooler. james bond had a Z! whats cooler then a 2 seater. its also way more agressive in terms of styling. it's unique. i see 2 to 3 G37 a day in rockland/westchster county N.Y. when i want luxury i'll get a bimmer or benz. why half step it? get that z in solid red or p.graphite. "places to go, people to see, porsce's to pass" Z

I love my z because of no backseats. With the four seater I feel like theres people behind me.

The other day I went into a Benz dealership with a friend and he drove a G and the dealership sales man, and he didn't know what an infiniti was. Then I have another friend that went into a Mazda dealership with her b/f in her G and the sales guy was like "what do you drive, is that a Toyota Corolla?" ...she was pissed. Sure we can all agree that these sales guy can be ignorant and just plain stupid, and some may even say the benz sales guy just like to think their brand is the best and don't need to know other competitor brands. But either way, more reason why I wouldn't pay a $40K+ for an Infiniti. At least a Z it's reputable in it's own way regardless of the rest of the crappy Nissan line up. |
